1 Palm Beach County Pretrial Services Program Register Funded by Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners For the week of 08/16/15 thru 08/22/2015 The Palm Beach County Pretrial Services Program (PTS) Intake Unit provides verified information to the First Appearance Court Judge 365 days per year so that informed decisions may be made regarding bond for defendants appearing in that court. The PTS Supervision Unit (SOR) provides court sanctioned supervision for an average of 700 total individuals pending the disposition of their cases in Court Intake services are delivered at the Palm Beach County Jail on Gun Club Road as well as the Belle Glade Courthouse. Supervision services are offered at the Main Courthouse, North County Courthouse, South County Courthouse and Belle Glade Courthouse. All PTS services are directly related to cost savings for Palm Beach County taxpayers. Intake staff efforts of interviewing, verification and court presentation result in Supervision staff carrying an average daily caseload of 900 out-of-custody individuals who may otherwise be incarcerated in the County Jail at the cost of $130 per day, thus offering a substantial jail housing cost avoidance to taxpayers. Number of SOR Clients being supervised out of custody = 909 Program annual budget of $1,283, = $3,515 gross daily cost of operation $3,515 Gross daily cost of operation $ 677 Average daily collection of costs of supervision $2,838 Net daily cost of operation $2,838 net daily cost of operation 909 SOR clients $3.12 per individual per day Reported Jail Housing Cost = $130 Per individual per day
