Because the form has been updated, the plans made for the academic year cannot be directly copied for the work plan form in order to update the appropriate information. Formerly, copying has been possible, provided that the personal employment contract number has remained the same. The numbering used here will correspond with the SoleTM work plan form numbering. All work plans should be completed in SoleTM by, at the latest, June 17th, 2016! 11 - Basic Degree Education and Related Research The teaching here refers to basic degree teaching, i.e. teaching Bachelor s degree and Master s degree students. It is divided into contact teaching and its preparation (Item 1.1) and other duties regarding basic degree duties (Item 1.2) Study Modules in Basic Degree Education 1.1. Contact Teaching As regards contact teaching, please specify study modules (courses), their codes and the number of hours involved. Also, you should specify the teaching hours for each course, the number of teaching groups, an estimate of the number of students as well as the number of teaching hours for each group. The number of hours of online teaching involving active interaction with students shall be specified as contact teaching. The number of teaching hours involved in international teacher exchange shall also be specified here.

Regarding teaching in a foreign language, please specify whether it is normal teaching (e.g. an international Master s Degree programme or foreign language subject teaching) or an exceptional case where a greater number of preparation hours is justifiable Planning (Additional information) Please specify here the number of preparation hours for contact teaching. As a rule, one contact lesson requires a maximum of 2-3 hours of preparation. A noticeably greater number of hours should be explained accordingly in the additional information field (e.g. if the course is new or requires some special arrangements and preparation Other Duties Regarding Teaching 1 According to the Collective Agreement Act, the maximum workload of a Professor is 140 hours, a Lecturer s maximum workload is 392 hours and a doctoral student s maximum workload is 5 % (80 hours) of the annual workload. For those engaged in teaching with no research duties, the maximum annual workload regarding contact teaching is 448 hours. The Executive Board made a decision (March 16th, 2016) that the maximum annual workload of both University Researchers and University Lecturers regarding contact teaching is 230 hours, and a University Teacher s work plan may include an annual maximum of 200 hours of research, if proven successful.

The maximum amount for Bachelor s Degree supervision is 15 hours per term. The maximum amount for Master s Degree main supervision is 30 hours per academic year and cosupervision max. 15 hours per academic year. Those with Master s Degree may supervise and assess Bachelor s theses. Those with Doctor s Degree may supervise and assess Master s theses. 12. Adult Education Please specify in the additional information field: Adult education given e.g. in the Open University or as in-service training. 21 Postgraduate Studies and Associated Research This refers to postgraduate studies offered to Doctoral students. Duties include e.g. postgraduate seminars and courses, supervising and assessing dissertations as well as planning postgraduate education. Those with Doctor s degree may supervise postgraduate students Postgraduate Study Modules Please specify here the contact teaching (seminars and courses) to be given to postgraduate students. See item Seminars Please specify in the further information field the seminar in question (discipline) as well as your role in the seminar (leader, commentator etc.). See item Supervision and Assessment of Dissertations Main supervisees Co-supervisees

4 Please specify here the supervision and assessment of dissertations. The maximum amount of supervision for each main supervisee is 40 hours per academic year and 20 hours for each cosupervisee, depending on the stage of the dissertation. The maximum period is four years. Please specify in the Further information field the names of both main supervisees and co-supervisees. Also state whether the student is full-time or part-time as well as the current stage of the dissertation work Other Postgraduate Duties Please specify in the Further information field e.g. the planning and development activities regarding postgraduate education Development Please specify in the Further information field development, planning and other equivalent activities My Own Postgraduate Studies Postgraduate studies here refer to your own scientific postgraduate studies, i.e. research work and postgraduate studies, which aim at Doctor s degree. Please specify your own scientific postgraduate studies and the corresponding number of hours. Please specify in the Further information field the title of your research project (i.e. Licentiate thesis or dissertation), postgraduate courses (JOPS), seminars and other studies as well as scientific congresses etc. Doctoral students teaching activities shall mostly center on their own areas of research. The maximum amount of Doctoral students contact teaching hours is 5% (80 hours) of the total working time, including preparation work. If a Doctoral student s work plan includes teaching, it will be specified in item Other Research Activities This refers to research work which does not aim at your own Doctor s degree Projects Choose your current projects (with their own project number) from the Choose Project menu Planning and Application of Projects Please specify in the Further information field the title of the research, the preparative and administrative work involved as well as the number of hours involved. Also, please specify the titles/descriptions of projects at their planning stage, the research plans as well as the funding. Regarding the most relevant publications, please specify the estimated publishing schedule Other Research Work Please specify in the Further information field your publishing activities, participation in congresses, writing scientific articles and other scientific activities.

5 Also, specify here the current projects which do not involve external funding (projects with external funding shall be specified in item 22.1). 31 Social Services Please specify your social tasks and the corresponding number of hours Expert Duties outside the University Please specify here those duties that are not paid for separately by the arranging organization Other Social Services Interviews and expert opinions given to different kinds of media, columns, panel discussions, popular publications etc Preliminary examination of dissertations and acting as an opponent 31.3 Artistic Activities Artistic work related to your position must be done within the Department, Faculty or University community, or is otherwise arranged by the University of Jyväskylä. Usually, it is connected with the teaching offered by the Department (e.g. teacher training) and includes cooperation with students. The artistic work described above cannot be paid for separately. Please specify your artistic work in the Further information field (event, work group etc. as well as the number of hours involved) Other Duties 41 Support Services The University s internal support services; i.e. planning and development activities within the Department, Faculty or University (Department and discipline meetings, work groups etc.). The support services may, for example, consist of administrative or confidential duties within the University. Please specify your internal support services and the corresponding number of hours in the Further information field. 61 In-Service Training Participating in in-service training offered by the University in order to promote the goals of the University or the unit (e.g. university pedagogics, online teaching, teaching in a foreign language, leadership training) may be included in the work plan if agreed upon with the Head of the Department. Please specify here the training activities entered in the Korppi system or other training agreed upon with the Head of the Department.
