Need more information on or help with International Payments? Terms and conditions International Payments Terms and Conditions. Our agreement with y ou is made up of the general conditions (contained in the Your Banking Relationship with Us Personal Banking terms and conditions leaf let) and additional conditions. These additional conditions include the conditions below, inf ormation in the International Pay ments leaf let, and other inf ormation we tell y ou when y ou ask us to make the pay ment. If there is any ov erlap or conf lict between the additional conditions and the Personal Banking terms and conditions, the additional conditions apply. The international pay ments serv ice allows y ou to make an electronic pay ment v ia our online, branch or telephone channels f rom an account y ou hold with us to a person ( recipient ) either outside the UK or in a currency other than sterling within the UK. It is prov ided by Lloy ds Bank plc, whichev er holds y our account. 1. Making an international payment. 1.1 We must receiv e y our pay ment instruction bef ore the cut-of f time on a working day so that we can start processing it the same day. The cut-of f time f or international pay ments sent in euro v ia branch and telephony will be communicated to y ou at the time of the transaction but will be no earlier than 2pm and no later
4 than 3pm, and the cut of f time f or all other currencies is 3pm. If y ou make y our international pay ment online the cut-of f time f or all currencies is 3pm. 1.2 Prov ided we receiv e y our pay ment instruction bef ore the cut-of f time on a working day, we will take the money f rom y our account the same day. If the recipient s account is in the EEA, the timescales f or pay ments set out in the Personal Banking terms and conditions leaf let will apply. If the recipient s account is outside the EEA, y ou can ask us f or details about how long the pay ment will take to arriv e. By EEA we mean the European Economic Area (this includes members of the European Union plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). 1.3 By working day we mean any day on which a particular bank is open f or business as required f or the processing of an international pay ment. Our working day s are Monday to Friday (other than English bank holiday s)but f oreign banks may hav e dif f erent working day s, f or example because they observ e local bank holiday s. 1.4 There must be suf f icient f unds in y our account f or us to process y our pay ment instruction. If, when we try to process y our pay ment, there are insuf f icient f unds in y our account, y ou acknowledge that: we may make a charge f or cancelling the pay ment. We will tell y ou the amount of our charges f or this serv ice at the time we may also make a charge f or any loss in f oreign exchange that we make as a result of try ing to send the pay ment on y our behalf. 1.5 When y ou giv e us a pay ment instruction y ou must giv e us the f ull name and address of the recipient, and the name and address of their bank; and if y ou are making a pay ment in euro or any other EEA currency to a bank account in the EEA, Switzerland or Monaco y ou must giv e us the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) and Bank Identif ier Code (BIC) f or the recipient s account. By EEA currency we mean the euro or any of f icial currency of an EEA country ; or if y ou are making any other pay ment y ou must giv e us the recipient s account number and any other details we ask y ou f or so we can make the pay ment. 1.6 You may not be able to cancel or change y our pay ment instruction once y ou hav e giv en it to us because we start processing it when we receiv e it. If y ou ask us to cancel a pay ment instruction that is already being processed or if we re unable to process the pay ment due to incorrect recipient details, y ou acknowledge that: if the pay ment has been credited into the recipient s account, we can only recall the pay ment (or any part of it) with the agreement of the recipient s bank and the recipient we may make a charge f or try ing to cancel or change the pay ment, whether or not we succeed. We will tell y ou the amount of our charges f or this serv ice at the time y ou request it if y ou asked f or the original pay ment to be sent in a f oreign currency, we will conv ert it into sterling at the applicable exchange rate bef ore we pay it back into y our account. The exchange rate we use to do that may be dif f erent f rom the exchange rate applied to the original pay ment and so the amount paid back into y our account may be less than the amount originally taken. 2. Exchange rates. 2.1 If y ou ask us to send the pay ment in a currency other than sterling we ll use our standard exchange rate on the day of the pay ment and we ll tell y ou or display online the exchange rate that will apply. To establish the current exchange rate bef ore sending y our international pay ment v ia our branch or telephone channel call us on or v isit us in branch. If the pay ment is in a currency which dif f ers f rom the currency of the recipient s account, we cannot control any exchange rate applied by the recipient s bank or any agent bank. 3. Charges. 3.1 If y ou ask us to make the pay ment in euro or any other EEA currency to a bank account in the EEA, Switzerland or Monaco y ou will pay our charges (including the charges of any agent bank we use) and the recipient will pay their bank s charges. 3.2 If y ou are requesting any other international pay ment to be sent v ia branch or by telephone y ou may opt: to pay all charges, where y ou also agree to pay the charges of the recipient s bank and any agent banks we use, instead of the recipient. We may not be able to tell y ou in adv ance what an agent or recipient bank will charge; or for charges to be shared, where you agree to pay our charges and the recipient pays their bank s charges, and, if we use an agent bank when sending the payment, their charge (if any) is deducted from the payment before it reaches the recipient s bank. We will not alway s be able to tell y ou in adv ance what the recipient s bank or any agent bank will charge When an international pay ment is sent online all charges will be shared as per condition abov e, there is no option f or y ou to pay all the charges. 3.3 Our charges that apply to international pay ments are: Payments made via Amount of payment Charges Branch/telephone Up to 5,000 5, Online Up to 5,000 5, We will take our charges f or dealing with y our international pay ment, and, where appropriate, any charges by the recipient s bank and any agent bank(unless the pay ment f alls within condition abov e, and the agent bank s charge is deducted f rom the pay ment) f rom y our account. 4. Statements and information. 4.1 The pay ment transaction details, including the sterling equiv alent of the pay ment, the charges which apply and any breakdown of these and the exchange rate applied will be conf irmed to y ou immediately bef ore the pay ment has lef t y our account and will be shown on the statement f or y our account. Please contact us if y ou d like this in large print or Braille.
