2 Logline One office, five adults and a baby only one signature away from getting new parents. Synopsis All that is missing is one last signature and everyone wants to get this meeting over as quickly as possible - the mother, the new parents, the woman from the adoption office. But there is one unknown factor, and that's Mirko, the father of the baby who has never seen his child. Director's statement My first encounter with what would become Kann ja noch kommen dates back several years when I was doing research for another film project. I met a young couple that had just agreed to give away their baby to an adoption. I continued to visit and interview this young couple and at the same time went to several adoption offices to learn more about how an adoption is actually carried out. I was fascinated by the probably unavoidable bureaucratic process that accompanies this fateful decision. In this process, everyone has a deficit in some way: the adoptive parents, who often have waited years already to get a baby, are biologically impotent (otherwise you are not allowed to adopt a child in Germany); while the biological parents are socially impotent to bring up a child themselves. When I made this film I wanted to stage the whole process of getting the final signature just as if the four parents would negotiate conditions in a business or political meeting. Alliances are there from the beginning but can always change. In the end, everyone only looks after himself. However, maybe that's not so bad as it sounds, but just human...

4 Biography of the director was born in Freiburg, Germany. After his high school diploma he did his civilian service in Hamburg. He studied Germanistics in Freiburg and graduated in 2004; during this time he works in a local cinema and shoots his first short films he studies directing at the Film Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg. His graduation film At the other end earned him the First Steps Award for the Best German film school film of the year, the German Cinematography Award and was screened at numerous festivals worldwide. His film The Nail won the main prize at the Filmfest Dresden he founded the production company Blue Elephant. He also works as a film critic for several film magazines, among others for the online magazine cine-fils.com and the ray Magazin. has an 13-year-old son and lives in Berlin-Neukoelln. Short version studied at the Film Academy Ludwigsburg.
