POSITION SUMMARY Briefly describe the role of the position within the department and college. The Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management reports to the President and will serve as a member of Oregon Tech s Executive Staff Team. The Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management (VP-SEM) will play a transformational role in bringing together existing departments into a high-functioning division to meet undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals across multiple campuses: Klamath Falls, Wilsonville, Online and extension locations. As such, the Vice President for Enrollment Management is the chief enrollment officer and is responsible for the operations of Admissions, Retention, Financial Aid, and the Registrar s Office. The VP-SEM will work collaboratively across the entire Oregon Tech university community with academic and administrative departments to develop, execute and evaluate a data-driven strategic enrollment management plan. The Vice President will be responsible to establish a clear vision for the entire enrollment unit; develop a strategic plan with clearly articulated goals, objectives, benchmarks and action items; and implement the strategic plan, managing both immediate enrollment goals (including retention approaches) and increasing the continuous pipeline of future students. The Vice President for Enrollment Management will provide innovative and effective leadership in: - Planning, organizing and directing the enrollment operations of the university. - Developing, implementing and monitoring a data-driven and innovative strategic plan for enrollment with clear metrics and measureable outcomes for freshmen, transfer, international, graduate, high school (dual credit), and nonadmit students (including targets for under-represented minority groups and other diversity factors). - Developing, implementing, and assessing policies and procedures for all areas within reporting lines. - Collaborating and coordinating closely with Marketing/Communications in order to attract and convert qualified applicants, and meet enrollment targets. - Supporting the students, collegial atmosphere, continuous improvement, innovation, and scholarly productivity of the university. B. REQUIRED DEGREES, LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, CREDENTIALS 1. Minimum education level required and the number of years of relevant experience required for the duties of this position.

2 A Master s degree from an accredited institution is required. At least three years of experience in an educational administrative position within enrollment management. Preferred: A Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of experience in a public university educational administrative position in enrollment management. 2. JOB FUNCTIONS ID JOB FUNCTIONS FREQUENCY ANNUAL PERCENT OF TIME 1 Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Enrollment Services division. Directly supervise the work, production and activities of the Directors of Admissions, Financial Aid, Retention, and the Registrar. Conduct regular staff meetings with directors, individual meetings, and complete annual performance evaluations. Hire, train, manage employees. Daily 15 2 Collaborate and coordinate with the Marketing and Communications Department to develop and coordinate marketing publications and channels, advertising, and implement outreach strategies for freshmen, transfer, undergraduate, graduate, international, high school dual credit, non-admits, and other types of student recruitment. Approve all published, public materials related to enrollment management and recruitment. Weekly to Monthly 10

4 3 Develop and maintain the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan; serve as chair of the SEM committee. Establish and monitor annual objectives for each area of the SEM Plan that supports the University mission. Identify and employ current enrollment best practices in admissions, financial aid and registrar s office in order to drive enrollment growth in alignment with university goals. 4 Routinely analyze data to shape strategic directions and work with Mar/Comm to make appropriate adjustments to an integrated marketing plan that clearly identifies and defines historical university enrollment patterns and forecasts trends in new student markets. 5 Monitor workload of staff to maintain effectiveness of the offices and achieve enrollment and student success goals. Develop, conduct, and assess professional staff services and training programs. Monthly 10 As Needed 10 6 Further the development and implementation of the university s comprehensive enrollment program including market segmentation, brand marketing, promotional strategies, and recruitment tactics to meet the university enrollment goals. The goals include continuing to increase academic quality in the incoming classes; growing enrollments in specific programs and departments; growing geographic, socio-economic and racial diversity; and retention, financial aid, housing and other areas that impact enrollment, retention and university financial goals. Weekly to Monthly 5 7 Engage the entire Oregon Tech community and collaborate across academic and administrative departments to set and fulfill enrollment goals; share enrollment data throughout the year. 8 Ensure the delivery of quality, student-oriented retention, financial aid and enrollment services by developing and implementing efficient, effective, and integrated policies, systems and procedures. 9 Prepare and monitor divisional budget and all resource allocations and expenditures. 10 Demonstrate the commitment and promotion of enhancing student diversity across all campuses and extension operations. 11 Collaborate with STEM initiatives and the Office of Academic Agreements to increase high school participants in applying to Oregon Tech. 12 Prepare for and actively participate in Board of Trustee meetings by including status reports and plans on the Enrollment Services division.
