3 Qualifications In-House Workshops Page 1 IN-HOUSE DELIVERY Training workshops leading to the following qualifications from the Public Services Training Package (PSP12) may be delivered internally at the workplace or venues organised by government employers: Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) PSP41512 Certificate IV in Government (Fraud Control) PSP40612 Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance) PSP41412 Diploma of Government (Investigation) PSP51712 Diploma of Government (Fraud Control) PSP50612 Advanced Diploma of Government (Management) PSP60512 All courses include: Contextualisation to include relevant legislation, policies, objectives and functions Flexible delivery to maximise compatibility with workplace productivity requirements Electronic templates (in editable form) to transfer training outcomes to the workplace FEES & COSTS Fees are calculated on workshop delivery days and inclusive of general disbursements, course materials, contextualisation and student support. Fees in this program are GST-free under the Tax Act. Set Fees: Max. Participants: $2990 per day* (GST-free) 12 for any 4-day workshop program 16 for any 5-day workshop program 8 for any Advanced Diploma program Materials and Disbursements*: Included in Set Fees Reasonable Contextualisation: Included in Set Fees Post-workshop Student Support: Included in Set Fees * A standard full training day is 9am to 4pm. Disbursements are all costs excluding travel. Travel costs apply for workshops outside the Sydney metropolitan area and will be quoted prior to engagement. ABOUT US The Sydney Institute of Professional Studies is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). We have operated as a training provider for the past 17 years with the last 12 as an RTO and prior to this provided a range of courses in partnership with the University of Western Sydney. During this time we have successfully delivered in-house training for government departments across Australia specialising in the subject areas of investigation, regulatory compliance, fraud control and public sector management. 4 Qualifications In-House Workshops Page 2 CERTIFICATE IV IN GOVERNMENT (Investigation) PSP Days WHO SHOULD DO THIS COURSE The Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) is prescribed by the AGIS as the minimum qualification for people working, or seeking to work, as government investigators. Occupational fields include: Employment misconduct investigations Regulatory compliance and enforcement Fraud and corruption investigations When completed over 5-days the maximum number of participants is 16. When completed over 4-days the maximum number of participants is 12. The 5-day program reduces post-workshop assessment requirements. Note: For training in criminal investigative functions such as executing search warrants, making arrests and producing a brief of evidence the Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) Criminal Investigation will be a more relevant course. It is not part of this program and details are available on the website or contact our office. It requires the demonstration of 15 units which in this program are as follows: 1. Uphold and support the values and principles of public service 2. Use advanced workplace communication strategies 3. Encourage compliance with legislation in the public sector 4. Exercise regulatory powers 5. Investigate non-compliance 6. Gather and manage evidence 7. Gather information through interviews 8. Produce formal record of interview 9. Advise on progress of investigations 10. Finalise and report on investigations 11. Contribute to workplace safety 12. Value diversity 13. Apply government processes 14. Deliver and monitor service to clients 15. Support policy implementation The above 15 units also results in the award the Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance). (1x5 days) or (1x3 days + 1x2 days) or (1x4 days) or (2x2 days) Workshops schedules may be over any period up to 12 months.

5 Qualifications In-House Workshops Page 3 CERTIFICATE IV IN GOVERNMENT (Fraud Control) PSP Days This qualification is prescribed by the CFCF as the minimum qualification for people who conduct government fraud control activities. Occupational fields include: Accounts, purchasing, payroll and other financial roles Assessment/scrutiny of claims and applications Internal or external audit Corruption/maladministration prevention It is suitable for developing, enhancing and certifying the knowledge and skills required for the competent performance of public sector investigations. It requires the demonstration of 15 units and in this program the following 12 are mandatory: 1. Uphold and support the values and principles of public service 2. Use advanced workplace communication strategies 3. Encourage compliance with legislation in the public sector 4. Deliver and monitor service to clients 5. Value diversity 6. Apply government processes 7. Support policy implementation 8. Contribute to workplace safety 9. Monitor data for indicators of fraud 10. Conduct fraud control awareness sessions 11. Receive and validate data 12. Conduct data analysis 13. Execute regulatory powers 14. Investigate non-compliance 15. Undertake inspections and monitoring The above 15 units also results in the award the Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance). (1x4 days) or (2x2 days) Workshops schedules may be over any period up to 12 months.

6 Qualifications In-House Workshops Page 4 CERTIFICATE IV IN GOVERNMENT (Statutory Compliance) PSP Days This qualification is for people working in regulatory compliance roles primarily involving monitoring and inspection of matters that have limited defences (strict liability) and as such do not usually involve a substantive process of investigation. Occupational fields include: Inspection of registered operators in regulated industries Monitoring compliance by licence/permit holders Vetting applications in regard to licensing or registrations If the regulatory enforcement involves investigation of non-compliance that is not strict liability or may result in prosecution one of the Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) PSP41512 courses would be more suitable. It may be completed over 4 or 5 days with the extra day reducing the post-workshop assessment requirements. It requires the demonstration of 15 units and in this program the following 10 are mandatory: 1. Uphold and support the values and principles of public service 2. Use advanced workplace communication strategies 3. Encourage compliance with legislation in the public sector 4. Deliver and monitor service to clients 5. Value diversity 6. Apply government processes 7. Exercise regulatory powers 8. Support policy implementation 9. Contribute to workplace safety 10. Investigate non-compliance The remaining 5 elective units may be selected from any of the following. If all 5 electives are selected from category A the dual award of the Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) applies and when all 5 electives are selected from category B the dual award of the Certificate IV in Government (Fraud Control) applies. CATEGORY A (PSP Investigation electives) Gather and manage evidence Gather information through interviews Produce formal record of interview Advise on progress of investigations Finalise and report on investigations CATEGORY C (Other elective options) Assess compliance Promote client compliance Conduct compliance audits (1x5 days) or (1x3 days + 1x2 days) or (1x4 days) or (2x2 days) Workshops schedules may be over any period up to 12 months. CATEGORY B (PSP Fraud control electives) Undertake inspections and monitoring Monitor data for indicators of fraud Conduct fraud control awareness sessions Receive and validate data Conduct data analysis Act on non-compliance Finalise and report on investigations Conduct surveillance

7 Qualifications In-House Workshops Page 5 DIPLOMA OF GOVERNMENT (Investigation) PSP Days The Diploma of Government (Investigation) is prescribed by the AGIS as the minimum qualification for people engaged in the coordination and supervision of investigations. Occupational fields include: Employment misconduct investigations Regulatory compliance and enforcement Fraud and corruption investigation This is an accelerated program and training is focused on investigations project management with the remaining units facilitated through participants being coached in demonstrating and evidencing current competency. In this regard the course is only suitable for people with appropriate experience and as such enrolment is restricted to people who meet the following entry criteria: Previously obtained the Certificate IV in Government (Investigation), or Manage/supervise investigations for, or on behalf, of government agencies, or At least 3 years experience working as a government or police investigator, or Work experience and/or qualifications equivalent to any of the above It requires 11 units of competency and in this program they are as follows: 1. Coordinate investigation processes 2. Conduct investigations 3. Manage investigation information processes 4. Review and evaluate investigations 5. Promote the values and ethos of public service 6. Promote compliance with legislation in the public sector 7. Use complex workplace communication strategies 8. Coordinate resource allocation and usage 9. Promote diversity 10. Undertake research and analysis 11. Monitor and maintain workplace safety The courses is delivered through 2 separate workshops: Investigations Project Management (2-days) Diploma Assessment Workshop (2-days) People who have previously completed the 2-day Investigations Project Management workshop from the Short Course Workshop program are only need to complete the Diploma Assessment 2-day workshop (2 x 2 days) A gap of between 6 weeks and 3 months is required between the workshops in the same 12 month period.

8 Qualifications In-House Workshops Page 6 DIPLOMA OF GOVERNMENT (Fraud Control) PSP Days The Diploma of Government (Fraud Control) is prescribed by the CFCF as the minimum qualification for people who manage and/or coordinate government fraud control. Occupational fields include: Accounts, purchasing, payroll and other specialist financial roles Supervision/management of claims and applications assessment Internal or external audit Corruption/maladministration prevention Monitoring funding for projects, schemes and grants This is an accelerated program and training is focused on fraud risk management with the remaining units facilitated through participants being coached in demonstrating and evidencing current competency. In this regard the course is only suitable for people with appropriate experience and as such enrolment is restricted to people who meet the following entry criteria: Previously obtained the Certificate IV in Government (Fraud Control), or Manage/supervise fraud control for, or on behalf, of government agencies, or At least 2 years experience working in a financial role for government, or Work experience and/or qualifications equivalent to any of the above It requires 11 units of competency and in this program they are as follows: 1. Conduct fraud risk assessments 2. Develop fraud control plans 3. Implement fraud control activities 4. Coordinate development and implementation of fraud information systems 5. Promote the values and ethos of public service 6. Promote compliance with legislation in the public sector 7. Use complex workplace communication strategies 8. Coordinate resource allocation and usage 9. Promote diversity 10. Undertake research and analysis 11. Monitor and maintain workplace safety The courses is delivered through 2 separate workshops: Fraud Risk Management (2-days) Diploma Assessment Workshop (2-days) People who have previously completed the 2-day Fraud Risk Management workshop from the Short Course Workshop program are only need to complete the Diploma Assessment 2-day workshop (2 x 2 days) A gap of between 6 weeks and 3 months is required between the workshops in the same 12 month period.

9 Qualifications In-House Workshops Page 7 ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF GOVERNMENT (Management) PSP Days This course provides an opportunity for people who are currently working as public sector managers to develop, enhance and certify their competency through a blended process of training and facilitated recognition. It will enable people who have acquired knowledge and skills in leadership, strategic thinking and organisation to have their competency documented through a high-level qualification in public sector management. Benefits for employers in delivering this course internally at the workplace include providing an opportunity for managers to engage with each other through an organised process of strategic and reflective discussion about competency in management level decision-making. The accelerated nature and integration of current competency recognition requires that enrolment is restricted to people who are currently working as a public sector manager and have at least 12 months experience in the role which may be as a generalist or specialist manager and does not need to be at a senior management level. The recognition phase of this course is facilitated and participants will be provided with an opportunity to evidence the required knowledge and skills for all of the units following a process of training and/or coaching. As such it is not necessary to produce evidence of previous performance in specific units of competency but such evidence may be collated and used in lieu of course assessment tasks It requires 15 units of competency and in this program the following 10 are mandatory: 1. Maintain and enhance confidence in public service 2. Manage compliance with legislation in public sector 3. Apply government systems 4. Manage workplace safety 5. Establish and maintain strategic networks 6. Manage diversity 7. Manage policy implementation 8. Influence workforce effectiveness 9. Manage quality client service 10. Facilitate people management An additional 5 electives are required. Workshop participants must select the same elective units. Electives (select any 5) 1. Manage change 2. Analyse information 3. Persuade and influence opinion 4. Manage risk 5. Facilitate knowledge management 6. Manage regulatory compliance 7. Review and improve business performance 8. Manage evaluations This program is delivered as 3x2 day workshops Workshops are scheduled at least 4 weeks apart and should all be conducted within a 3-12 month period.
