3 INTRODUCTION Welcome! This guide will provide you with some simple ideas and best practices that can help you make the most of your event through the Fundraising Pro system. This guide is designed for those using the Event/Campaign template. EVENT SETTINGS Event Settings page is one of the pages you want to thoroughly review during early stage of setting up an event. Click here to download our Event Settings Checklist. Bonus! If you are building a third-party fundraising campaign, please ensure the following options are enabled. Enable Participant Message Board Display the Event Information Enable Account Verification for New Registrants Enable Payment of Cash & Cheque Pledges by Credit Card Individual/Team Cash & Cheque Donations (Lump sum) To see a description for each option, please click here. CONTENT UPDATE Once your event is set up we encourage you to update the content on event pages so it is more personable and engaging. Below are some examples. 1. Customize your Event Home Page 2. 4 1. Customize your Event Home Page (Page: A.1. Event Home Page)
5 Add Toolkits and FAQ links On your event home page, provide fundraising toolkits and FAQ links to guide your participants to create their online fundraising pages so they can easily solicit donations from their friends, family and colleagues via and social media using their computers and smart phones. Tips: Files can be hosted on your server or at FrontStream. Simply hyperlink your text. YouTube videos or screenshots of your registration process can be very helpful to participants!
6 2. Encourage Self-Sponsor During Registration (Page: B.5 Additional Information)
7 3. Motivate Registrants to Set Their Fundraising Goals and Reword Search Permission (Page: B.5 Additional Information) Tip: Scoreboard and Donor listing permission questions cannot be edited in the content section. You can make updates in the Widgets section.

10 LOCATIONS If you re using locations for your event consider using the below options. 1. Location Types 2. Postal Code Search 3. Wave- Segment Locations 4. Add Location Details and Images 1. Location Types If you have multiple locations for your event, set up Location Types and Locations to make it easy for your participants to find an appropriate location. Location Types can be states/provinces, charity branches, etc. Location types help categorize locations. For example, one of my location types may be Ontario (province) and in this category I can add cities as my locations. Locations can be cities, walk/run distances, challenge types (quit smoking, quit sugar, quit social media, etc.), and third party event types (cook, sell, shave, race, etc.). Feel free to unleash your creativity!
11 2. Postal Code Search Click here to learn how to enable post code search. 3. Segment Locations Add start-times or sessions by creating waves. For each wave you can limit registration spaces. Click here to learn how to create waves.
12 4. Add Location Details and Images (Map/Sponsor logos) When creating locations, enter a description and upload an image. Click here to learn how to add location details and images.
13 REGISTRATION TYPES If you have created multiple registration types, please ensure you have added meaning description for each registration type. You can also consider creating team types. Varied registration options example

15 SOCIAL NETWORK SETTINGS Allow Participants to Accept Donations inside Facebook! By using our Facebook app, participants will have the option to fundraise with a personal page on Facebook in addition to their existing fundraising page on the FontStream platform. Also, participants friends or family members can make donations right inside Facebook. For more information on using this app, click here.

17 Include an interesting statistic or a teaser in social message To learn more about social network settings click here.
18 E-CARDS Create and enable e-cards for your participants and donors. Your participants can send e-cards to thank their donors, and your donors can send e-cards after making donations. Click here to learn how to create multiple e-card templates! MEDIA Add a default message, pictures and videos for your participant fundraising pages. Click here to learn how to enable media.
19 CHARITY MESSAGE Create a charity message to communicate with your participants. Your charity message will appear on your participant s fundraising hub home page. You can share fundraising tips, important news or updates. You can add up to five messages. Click here to learn how to add a charity message. 20 Tip: Create custom s to keep your supporters engaged Target registrants by location, registration status, % of goal achieved and more! Target donors by location and donation amount Remind your registrants to pay in their Individual cash and cheque pledges prior to your event Remind those registrants that have not reached their fundraising commitment to solicit their friends or pay for their fee right in their fundraising hub.
