3 NYSADC History: background NYSADC, a consortium of the 5 academic dental centers (ADCs) in New York State: Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (Columbia) New York University College of Dentistry (NYU) Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine (Stony Brook) University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine (Buffalo) University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health (Rochester) The Dean of each of the schools serve on the NYSADC Board

7 NYSADC MDFD Consortium: outcomes The entry into academic dentistry is a long process, however the NYSADC MDFD consortium allowed the following fellows to enter the academic dentistry pipeline:
8 NYSADC MDFD Consortium: outcomes Julio Carrion, DMD, PhD: STONY BROOK Graduate of University of Puerto Rico Completed a combined PhD/Periodontology residency program, and completed a K30 Clinical research program. Completed an Individual Mentored Patient-Orientated Research Career Development Award (K23) from NIDCR. Received research awards at the International Association for Dental Research and the Northeast Society for Periodontists. Currently the Perio Program Director. Grant support: $20,000/year for 4 years ( )
