1 Hadopi, cultural property and Internet usage: French Internet users' habits and points of view. 2 nd survey - Overview and key figures. The full survey will be available for download on from 18 May 2011
2 ! I. Key figures How Hadopi affects the legal offer 50% of Internet users state that Hadopi encourages them to use works more regularly that comply with copyright regulations. Furthermore, 41% of Internet users state that Hadopi encourages them to change their Internet usage habits (+16 points compared with T0). Support for the creation of Hadopi 50% of Internet users questioned esteem that the creation of Hadopi is "a good initiative". How Hadopi affects illegal usage Whereas 7% of Internet users state that they or a member of their personal and social circle have already received an Hadopi warning, 72% of these users declare that they have reduced or completely stopped their illegal usage following this warning. 2
3 ! II. The same level of quality and integrity Survey carried out online from 23 March to 1 st April Purpose: monitor the habits and points of view of French Internet users in relation to their declared usage of cultural property on the Internet, and record, where applicable, any changes in relation to the previous survey (referred to as T0). 4 expert consultants to manage the survey. 1,500 Internet users, aged 15 and over, representative of French Internet users, were questioned (based on the quotas of the June 2009 Credoc Survey). Significant sample size ensuring target representativeness. Quotas were established on the following criteria: sex, age, Profession and Socioprofessional Category of the head of the family and place of residence. Sample perfectly comparable with the main T0 sample (no significant differences between them, quotas complies with well). With a view to improving the survey, certain T0 questions were fine-tuned or reformulated, to ensure better understanding. Some results show a trend related to weak bases. 3
4 ! III. Hadopi encourages legal usage Hadopi encourages 50% of Internet users to use cultural works more regularly on websites that comply with copyright regulations. The highest incentive is in the Professions and Socioprofessional Categories- (58% vs 49% on average) and with Internet users living in the provinces (51%). The percentage of Internet users "with no opinion" has greatly decreased (11% vs 23% in the T0). Does Hadopi encourage you to change your Internet music, video, video gaming, books, TV series, photos or software habits?
