Clare Fay: QED Trainer & Mentor. Specialist in Financial Management & Planning Clare Fay is an ACCA accountant. Having completed her training in 1991, she gained key experiences in practice and has held senior financial positions with corporate businesses and Multi National organizations. She has 19 years post qualification experience and can adjust easily to different working environments. Clare has had a varied experience in staff management, training and development working in the capacity of Team Leader and Manager with Whirlpool, CONCERN Worldwide and University College Dublin with responsibility for teams of up to 18 staff. Clare s career has spanned three continents. She has held Country Accountant position with Concern Worldwide in Cambodia and also Financial Manager with Concern Worldwide in Malawi. A key element of Clare s role while overseas was to train and develop local staff in finance related functions taking into consideration multicultural environment. Since joining QED as an Associate in 2002, Clare has delivered financial management training to SME Senior Managers, small business owner/managers and non-financial staff. Her interactive and inclusive training style ensure she can adjust easily to different levels of financial knowledge and understanding. Clare also lectures on a part-time basis in Accounting with University College Dublin. Training Methodology: How to Book: Action learning and learning journal: You are asked to apply the programme and tasks are driven by business imperatives. Reporting back to peers at each module provides an impetus for action. A personalised journal will be issued to you at the first module. You will use the journal to record your learning experiences, skills practised, ideas generated and acquired knowledge. Peer review: at the beginning of each module 2-6 there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas with peers. Mentoring: you will be allocated a mentor as part of the programme. The mentors have practical business experience, and a genuine interest in the development of the business. The mentor s role is to give feedback and encouragement, suggest alternative courses of action and discuss issues around specialist areas.
