Edgar, managing partner, has more than 40 years of lead trial experience in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Although he now practices exclusively on behalf of plaintiffs, Edgar spent many years on the defense side of the courtroom. In fact, one such case in which Edgar served as co-lead trial counsel concluded after one of the longest jury trials in the history of the United States. Edgar began his practice in tobacco litigation and other mass torts including asbestos. As Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri, his team assisted the Missouri Attorney General's office in recovering more than $6 billion dollars in its cost recovery lawsuit against various tobacco defendants. This successful experience resulted in Edgar serving as co-lead counsel in several class actions in Nevada arising from tobacco smoke exposure, as well as environmental contamination cases across the country. Edgar serves in key leadership roles throughout the legal and business communities and serves on the Board of Governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.
