2 Pew Research Center For the first time, a greater share of Hispanic recent high school graduates are enrolled in college than whites. The Hispanic high school dropout rate continues to fall. The number of 18- to 24-year-old Hispanics enrolled in college increased by 324,000 students between 2011 and 2012, marking the third straight year of increases. Hispanics now make up one-fourth of all public school students a new demographic milestone

3 Pew Research Center Despite these recent milestones, Latinos continue to lag other groups when it comes to earning a bachelor s degree. In 2012, 14.5% of Latinos ages 25 and older had earned one. By contrast, 51% of Asians, 34.5% of whites and 21.2% of blacks had earned a bachelor s degree. Hispanic college students are also less likely than whites to enroll in a four-year college, attend a selective college, and enroll full-time.

5 The task before us now is twofold. First, we must demand early educational excellence in middle and high school, so that Latino students gain the academic skills and mindsets necessary to succeed in a competitive college environment. Second, we should help Latino families gain financial literacy and help them select affordable colleges that best meet their educational needs. Bob Hildreth. 20 ACE Impact ACE has served over 15,000 students from since 1988 On average 81% of students have been retained The average high school GPA of ACE students who graduated in 2012 was 3.15 Of the 2012 ACE high school graduates, 88% graduated early or on time. 72% of 2011 ACE students continued on to college after completing program
