2 OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY Bachelor of Science Degree Interdisciplinary Studies (IDS) Major Cybersecurity Program Director: Tamer Nadeem, Department of Computer Science, College of Sciences Phone: +1 (757) Program Description This IDS Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Cybersecurity is offered through the College of Arts & Letters at Old Dominion University. The program offers a four-year, 120-hour curriculum focused on the subject of cybersecurity and provides opportunities for students to integrate education and training with the application of problem-solving skills in the lab environment. Courses are drawn from the disciplines of philosophy, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, and criminal justice to examine the multi-faceted nature of cybersecurity. ODU students admitted to the program have a variety of credit options including portfolio review, CLEP, DANTES, and departmental exams. Course requirements are as follows: Lower Division General Education W - Written Communication 1 6 R - Oral Communication M Mathematics (MATH 211 and 212 required and satisfies this M requirement.) F - Language and Culture (If not met thru high school 0-6 course work, this requirement will entail an additional 6 hours.) G - Information Literacy and Research A - Human Creativity H - Interpreting the Past L - Literature P - Philosophy and Ethics (PHIL 20E or 250E) N - Nature of Science (PHYS 21 and 22 preferred; 8 PHYS 211 and 212 accepted.) T - Impact of Technology S - Human Behavior (CRJS 215S or SOC 201S) Total Hours 8-1 Grade of C or better required in both courses and in ENGL 110C and before declaring major.
