DEBT/SPENDING General Overview: The national debt has totaled over 15 trillion dollars and counting. Something needs to be done to put a stop to our nation s outrageous spending. I believe that if we put a limit on spending and make major budget cuts we will be able to take control of this debt. In order to resolve our debt, we need to grow a stable economy, as well as increase business revenue. A committee will be created to control our government spending. We will put cuts on all federal programs to regulate spending. America cannot act like we have money to spend because we do not have any. Business revenue will increase because corporate taxes then will lower drastically. This will allow for more American made products, also giving Americans more work opportunities. This will thus increase spending among Americans, strengthening our economy. It will strengthen the economy because the increase in spending will create for more competition between companies, thus lowering costs and stimulating the economy. Effects/Results/Outcomes: If my policy is put into place, then America will be on its way out of its trillion dollars of debt. Regulating our spending will put more money towards paying off our debt, seeing that we do not have any funds to pay this debt off with. America will again be the world s strongest economy.

ECONOMY Overview: The nation s economy has been struggling for the past several years. We have been at war, generating a great deal of debt for our nation. We need to grow our economy to make it stable. One way of doing this is to limit corporate tax so that business revenue will increase. If business revenue increases, our economy will be headed in the right direction. More jobs will be created, more money being spent, and unemployment rate dropping because of new American jobs. Another action we should take is the cut, cap, and balance approach which cuts spending, enforces spending caps, and balances the market. I also believe that taxes should be left alone, let the economy work the situation out by itself, which has been proven in the past. Governmental interference should be minimal. Specific Instances: America will grow its economy through a growth in business revenue. Greater business revenue will generate money flow in the US allowing other businesses to prosper, as well as making jobs for our citizens. When I take office, I will pass a cut, cap, and balance budget to regulate the economy. This will create cuts in spending or funding, caps to limit spending, and a better balanced budget to help get us out of our debt. If we do nothing with taxes, the economy will work out its imperfections in time. Effects/Results/Outcomes: If my policy is put into place, America will have a sturdy and dependable economy. We will no longer have to worry about what is happening in the economy and use revenue a bit more freely. Americans will no longer need to worry about the US defaulting on its debt because we will have a balance budget that we will stick to. The money to help pay off this debt will be from the cuts and caps put into place.

HEALTHCARE Overview: We will increase the number of people insured and decrease the cost of insurance by repealing and replacing Obama s healthcare reform bill, reforming health insurance premiums, restructuring Medicaid, making health savings accounts more available, and by reforming medical malpractices. Our goal is to give all Americans the opportunity to receive healthcare. We need to repeal and replace Obamacare for our country s healthcare to improve. There are many problems with Obamacare. o It is unconstitutional because the government can not mandate anything, people have freedom. o This healthcare does not allow for competition between private companies but it creates essentially a monopoly causing prices to increase. Competition creates the lowest prices and the best rates. o The cost is too high. In order to pay for the 45 million uninsured and every other American, there will be an increase in taxes and there will be cuts to many programs including the national defense and education. Cuts will also be made for doctors, surgeons, and any other health career to help pay for this, causing a decrease in citizens wanting to become a doctor or surgeon. o This will lead to worse patient care. More and more people will go to the doctor, causing the availability of the doctor to decrease, or the doctor cannot make accurate diagnoses because of a mass number of patients being needed to see. o There will be long waits caused by increase number of patients and decrease number of doctors. At times even 6 months to get an MRI. Health services may be rationed also, giving celebrities or higher social classes faster, better, and top of the line care What we need instead o We need to reform taxing on health insurance premiums. This is one of the main reasons people can not afford insurance is because the premiums are so high. o We need to Restructure Medicaid by creating stricter guidelines to receive the help, such as proving that they are looking for a job if unemployed, or prove they are spending their money on food and clothing and other essentials. o We need to make Health Savings Accounts more available. These accounts would be used for situations where the extra money is needed for an individual. This promotes the act of saving money. o We need to reform medical malpractices. Making it harder for people to sue doctors, thus decreasing costs. Effects/Results/Outcomes: If my policies are put into place and Obamacare is repealed and replaced, healthcare cost will go down, allowing more and more people to afford and receive health care. The competition of private insurers will help decrease the cost and will help keep the quality or improve the quality of healthcare.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS Overview: We are a very helpful country and want to remain that way to remain in good terms with other countries. But if it is coming at a major cost to the U.S., then we need to stop and worry about us for once. That is why I believe we should pull some of our troops out of certain places but leaves others where they are as well. Iran- they are a nuclear threat to us. If we get out now, that is putting a threat on our country. So we need to stay here but pull out a few troops. Afghanistan & Pakistan- the threat of the Taliban and Al-Quaeda to come in power to the government is enough in itself for us to stay here. After we have set up a government that is up and running, then we will pull our troops out, but still have a base there to monitor them. China- We need to keep our bases with troops not only here, but every country we do have a base in. We could make a small decrease in the amount of troops. I believe though that with our presence in some of these countries is a reason they are still together today. We provide assistance, food, clothing, etc. This will build our relationships with countries, maybe getting on good terms to do some trading and such. Israel- they are not in a very good position, but we helped them get to where they are now, and we cannot back down now. We will have troops in Israel, helping fight for them. Russia- We need to continue to try and get along with Russia and work out a deal, but also know that it is not our country and every place does not have to be run like how the U.S. is. Africa- It is necessary to continually help by sending food and aid and try to get them educated. Effects/Outcomes/Results: By keeping our presence in countries and by working with the UN, we will make big steps on the war on terror and against Taliban and Al-Quaeda. We need to keep our troops in other countries to help them stabilize their country and government.

ENERGY POLICY Overview: We would like to decrease our dependency on fossil fuels by finding alternate ways of energy. Also we would like to reduce pollution in the air and on land by 30% in the next 10 years. Caps for factories to capture pollutants before they escape into the air. Create legislation for stricter safety regulations for oil companies so there are little to no more catastrophic oil spills. We will set a new fuel economy standard at 20 miles per gallon for all new cars. With the price of fuel, if people are buying a new car, they will look for ones with the best fuel economy. But this standard cannot get put too high because it will become too expensive to make the vehicle and they will not sell. Eventually causing the company to go bankrupt. We want to take steps to help out our environment, but with this subject, it cannot be taken too quickly. We will research more efficient ways to run vehicles and airplanes. We will fund this nationally after other priority issues are taken care of first. Effects/Outcomes/Results: Pollution is something that all are affected by. We can make a difference, by gathering new ways of being green to make our environment last as long as possible. The air we breathe, water we drink, and land we live on, sustains us, and that is why we need to work hard to protect it while we still can.

SAME SEX MARRIAGE Overview: Same sex marriage has come recently to be a big issue. We believe that marriage is the union between one man and one woman. We will pass a legislation that will make marriage defined as the union between a man and a woman so that it is illegal to have same sex marriage. Couples of the same sex have more divorces and it is proven that even with opposite sex marriages, divorces take a major toll on children. The old Testament says that it is Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve People may start to get married to the same sex just to receive health and insurance benefits. Among religious groups, white evangelical Protestants express the greatest opposition to same sex marriage, with 74% saying same sex marriage should not be legal. Although, we are going to allow for the states to pass legislation to say if it is illegal or legal to have a same sex marriage. So this way, there is still an option for those same sex couples looking to get married, they just might have to travel to a different state. Effects/Outcomes/Results: If put into place, our policy will confide to both sides. With, at the state level, couples are still legally able to get married if the state says so. This is going to be positive to the U.S. because it is showing how we are accepting of others and want to embrace new ideas/discussions while still sticking to the structured laws this country was born on.

IMMIGRATION Overview: We need to get control of illegal immigration in our country. We are a country nicknamed the melting pot for a reason but the illegal immigration numbers have risen greatly and are causing much controversy, as they are taking jobs away from U.S. citizens. We would like to build a fence along the U.S. Mexican border to better keep out illegal immigrants. If they have green card and have all of their paperwork to be a citizen, then they will be greatly welcomed in, but only if they have this. We also need to step up security not only along the land border but also in transportation such as airplanes. This will help in catching illegal immigrants or even legal immigrants from smuggling in drugs or weapons to the U.S. By monitoring this more closely, we are looking out for our own U.S. citizens by working to create a safe place to be. For companies that hire illegal immigrants knowingly, there will be fines placed on the companies. Effects/Outcomes/Results: Illegal immigration will go down and hopefully legal immigration will go up by building a fence alongside the border and by increasing security in airports and at the border. We want to keep our citizens safe, and if a person wants to come to the U.S. to feel protected and safe, then they should file for citizenship instead of coming in illegally. We will fund this with money saved from pulling our troops out of the war in Iraq and with help from the Department of Defense.
