1 Curriculum Vitae (April 2014) Meng Wang received Bachelor of Engineering degree from Department of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University in 2003 and Master of Science degree in Research of Highway (RIOH), China in From 2006 to 2009, he worked as research assistant, assistant researcher and project manager at National Center of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineering and Technology at RIOH from 2006 to There, he contributed in several projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Transport in China, varying from driver behaviour modelling and analyses, system architecture design for Cooperative (Vehicle Highway) Systems or Connected Vehicle Systems, modelling and evaluation of Cooperative Systems applications. In RIOH, he was also involved in international projects on potential cooperation in ITS between Europe and China, funded by European Commission under FP6 and FP7. From September 2009, he started working on his PhD project Sustainability Perspectives of Cooperative Systems funded by Shell at the Department of Transport & Planning of Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. He worked on development of a model predictive control framework for a variety of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Cooperative Systems/Connected Vehicles. The framework is applied to control design of several ADAS and Cooperative Systems applications to improve traffic operations and sustainability, including autonomous following, eco-driving support, cooperative driving and platooning concepts. During his PhD study, he also worked on two other projects, one funded by NAVTEQ and the other funded by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment. Apart from his PhD study, he also assisted teaching master course, supervised master thesis, served as referee for international journals and conferences. He has published more 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. His main research interests are traffic operations and ITS, including ADAS and Cooperative Systems, traffic flow theory and active/dynamic traffic management, and more generally optimisation and control of transport systems to improve efficiency, safety and sustainability.
