1 Freedom of Information request I would like to submit a Freedom of Information Request relating to specific a ICT contract(s) for Servers which may include: Server Hardware Server Licensing (Software) Server Storage For each of the types of ICT contract above can you please send me the following data types: 1. 2 RESPONSE Contract 1 Windows Environment The contract title is Virtualisation Programme but this was provided via existing framework contracts rather than ITT. The current supplier is SBL. Hewlett Packard. There are 3,500 users. British Transport Police use a mixed environment of Windows Server 2003 R2 and Windows Server There are 325 Servers in total. There are 206 virtual servers. 794,382. This includes Annual Service & Maintenance costs. 2 years The first phase contract expired in 2012; the second phase is estimated for completion in 2014/5.

3 This framework contract covers hardware, software and services. 3 Matthew Hyde, IS&BS contract manager, Contract 2 UNIX Environment UNIX Server Programme Q Associates SUN There are 2,500 users. SUN Solaris. There are 18 servers. There are no virtualised UNIX servers all are physical servers.

4 Hardware is purchased on an as and when required basis so a contract value can not be determined. The software is installed by the company supplying the software application, therefore contract value, duration and expiry dates vary for each application are all specific for need which varies considerably. Please find the information relating to server storage below. Contract 3 Primary Storage The contract title is SAN Storage. However, this was provided via existing framework contracts rather than ITT. The current supplier is SBL. DELL Compellent.

The equipment was provided via existing framework contracts rather than ITT. The devices are now used for specific force-wide applications (such s ) that are not managed via the central SAN (see above). The current supplier is SBL. HP EVA There are 3,500 users. However, the storage used in the UNIX environment is not contract based as there are no stand alone SANs or NAS devices. All UNIX storage is directly attached to the servers (see above) and was therefore procured, and is part of, the Q Associates contract as outlined above. This storage is not contract based. The current supplier is Q Associates. SUN
