This conference is definitely one of its kind, bringing the full 5G ecosystem to shape next generation communication networks in a closed environment. As operators race to develop 5G network technology, there is still much debate and uncertainty over what this revolutionary technology is the 5G Forum USA conference examined this along with the opportunities for new business models and services which 5G will enable. 5G FORUM USA FACES & FIGURES 5G Forum USA attracted 150+ attendees Attendance from Across the globe. Provided a good overview of 5G. I was not only able to get the viewpoints on various service & infrastructure providers, but also those of adjacent vertical markets. All of which proved to be most useful. 2 SHOW HIGHLIGHTS The 2-day event was a great success bringing together 200 attendees from America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East to engage in in-depth discussions and hear insightful presentations around 5G networks. Kicking off the conference, we had an exclusive market update from 4G Americas President, followed by a keynote panel, where SVP s of Sprint, T-Mobile USA, China Mobile and Ericsson, defined 5G! This interesting debate brought a lot of attention but also the reassurance that the leading MNO s all have similar views on 5G and its benefits. We continued to hear comprehensive views on network architecture & technology in a way which will be most efficient once we see 5G deployments, from VP of T-Mobile USA & SK Telecom, along with examining the data surge + requirement for more spectrumexplained by Directors from, Verizon & China Mobile, this again brought a lot of questions from the audience! 5G is said to be the network that will open new revenue streams for mobile operators but also a network that will bring together different ecosystems! We heard from Orange Healthcare, Kia Motors, Toyota, Google & Fordall sharing their vision for a connected generation, addressing issues like connectivity, services and data consumption. Day 2 saw an interactive roundtable session, where all attendees discussed various topics with key takeaways being- What is 5G, 5G is a loose framework and a timeline, 5G Challenges are far more than technical, densification brings more challenges, network slicing is an integral part of 5G, how do you manage quality of experience?, network security and NFV for 5G! This session was a key highlight for the whole event, as it answered many unanswered questions for many! The high quality presentations and interactive debates only tell us that there is a lot to look forward to with the continuous revelation of what 5G is and what the network will look like, & 5G Forum USA is the conference to come together at to hear the latest updates!
