THE REQUEST FOR TENDER IS AN INVITATION FOR PERSONS TO SUBMIT AN OFFER TO SUPPLY THE GOODS/SERVICES/GOODS AND SERVICES PARTICULARISED IN THE SPECIFICATION.

2 1. Introduction/Overview Tenderers are invited from suitably equipped and qualified contractors/suppliers who wish to be included on the McKinlay Shire Council preferred suppliers list for the supply of goods, services and or goods and services to Council. Suppliers may choose to submit rates for selected parts or all of the categories listed below. Applicants should read the specifications completely to ascertain the nature of the work to be performed and the terms on which it is to be performed. Following the selection process, the successful supplier/s will be requested to undertake a workplace health and safety induction. The preferred supplier agreement shall be for the remainder of the financial year and all pricing shall be fixed during this period. Should further goods, services and or goods and services be required that fixed pricing cannot or has not been submitted for the specified category, a quotation from the supplier will be required. 2. Scope McKinlay Shire Council is developing a Preferred Supplier Arrangement as per Section 233 of the Local Government Regulation 2012, to assist in procuring for goods and or services without going through the process of first inviting written quotes or tenders. 3. Particulars Category A. Supply of Services Building Maintenance (Ref: 01) Electrical (Ref: 02) Plumbing (Ref: 03) Painting (Ref: 04) Concreting Works (Ref: 05) Building Maintenance and Carpentry/Joinery (Ref: 01) The work shall consist of routine maintenance works and new work as required on Council s premises located with the McKinlay Shire area. Council reserves the right to supply materials from Council s store or use materials from a company/businesses nominated by Council or supply labour nominated by Council. If contractors supply materials and labour then all invoices associated with various assigned work must be submitted for verification and payment showing Purchase Order number. 1. 4 Master Painter (tradesman) Concreting Works (Ref: 05) The work shall consist of labour by a licensed and experienced tradesman(s) and supply of materials related to concreting works within the McKinlay Shire area. Prices must include excavation as required, disposal of fill generated, sub-base, formwork, reinforcement, concreting and site clean-up. Applicants are requested to quote price of: 1. 5 5.3 Tender Closing Time 5pm Australian Eastern Standard Time, 30 th October Only those Tenders received by the Closing Time will be considered. Tenders that are mailed will be dated and time stamped when received. The Local Government will accept no responsibility in the event that a Tender is not received by the Closing Time. 5.4 Informal Tenders Any Tender may be rejected if it: a) Does not comply with the requirements of the Specification or this Request for Tender; or b) Contains any provisions not required by this Request for Tender. 5.5 Acceptance of Tenders The Local Government is not bound to accept the lowest or any Tenders. The Local Government may accept part of a Tender. This Request for Tender together with the Local Government s written acceptance of the Tender shall constitute the Contract between the Local Government and the successful Respondent. The Respondent agrees that the Tender will remain open for acceptance for a minimum period of 30 days after the Closing Time, notwithstanding that there may have been negotiations in respect of any Tender in the meantime. A Respondent may withdraw its Tender at any time after the expiration of 30 days from the Closing Time, but must not withdraw their Tender prior to the expiration of 30 days from the Closing Time. 5.6 Contract Duration The duration of the Contract for the supply of the services is as specified in Section 4 of this Request for Tender. However, in the event of the successful Respondent failing in any manner to carry out the Contract to the Local Government s satisfaction, the Local Government may forthwith determine the Contract by written notice to the successful Respondent Insurance Requirements The reporting on prices and quality of service requires suppliers to have and maintain: a) Public liability Insurance amount not less than $20,000, in respect of any one occurrence and for an unlimited number of claims; and b) Product liability insurance amount not less than $20,000, in respect of any one occurrence and for an unlimited number of claims; and Indemnity The successful Respondent must indemnify and keep indemnified the Local Government against: a) Any liability under the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 as amended from time to time; and

6 b) Any other law in force or which during the term of this Contract may come into force, under which any person is entitled to claim or sue for compensation or recover any damages from the Local Government. 6. Criteria The Criteria listed below must be addressed and detailed information provided as part of your written Tender: a) Compliance with Sections 1 to 6 of this RFT; and b) Completion of the attached Form of Tender including the Price Schedule.
