3 College Greenlight College Greenlight is a free, online college & scholarship resource for first-generation & underrepresented college-bound students. We support the needs of community based organizations and high schools, helping students achieve better college outcomes

4 What is The Greenlight to College Month? In conjunction with our White House Reach Higher commitments, we are thrilled to announce The Greenlight to College Month. An opportunity that supports our college access community to better assist and incentivize your students in completing their college search, scholarship application, and financial aid process.

6 How can we achieve this? Raffles Students have a unique opportunity to be recognized and rewarded for doing the following: 1. File their FAFSA 2. Complete scholarship applications 3. Visit college campuses 4. Conduct college research

Raffles We re asking students to upload proof of the following: FAFSA Completion Submit photo of confirmation page from fafsa.org Scholarship Applications Submit photo of confirmation /page from scholarship provider College Search Scavenger Hunt Worksheet Download and Complete Worksheet Selfie during college visits Upload photo For every entry, students will be entered in a chance to win $100 in Amazon Gift Cards and a $1,000 Scholarship provided by College Greenlight.

8 How can students participate? When? February 2015 Who? Students from all grade levels are welcomed. We strongly recommend high school juniors, seniors, and current college students to participate Where? Online Weekly Raffles Online Marathon Feb 1 st Feb 27 th Sat, Feb. 28 th Between 9am-6pm Central

9 How can students participate? Online Weekly Raffles: Throughout February Uploading proof of entries at (Please note: the webpage will launch on Feb. 1st. ) Have an existing College Greenlight Account to qualify for the $100 Amazon Gift Cards weekly raffle drawing. Multiple entries can be submitted every week. College Greenlight will announce the winners every Friday via and social media.

10 How can students participate? Online Marathon: Saturday, February 28 th Between 9am-6pm Central Students can increase their chances of winning by participating in our hourly raffles during our Online Marathon. To participate: Students must register by logging their College Greenlight account. Registration will be available on February 1 st. On the day of the Marathon: Students can access the online environment via their College Greenlight account. You and your students can participate in our webinars and chatrooms. Students can learn about topics like financial literacy, leveraging financial aid packages, and how to best navigate the college search process.

11 How can counselors participate? Promotional Handouts: We will forward our Greenlight to College Month Counselor Guide to those who are interested. The guide provides the following: Promotional handouts for students, FAQ, event logistics regarding the Marathon, and helpful resources and videos for students. Data Reports: All Counselors are able to receive weekly reports every Monday from the College Greenlight team regarding your students submissions. The reports will include the following: Student Name, Graduation Cohort, Submission Type, Scholarship Dollars, and Date Submission. Your Greenlight liaison will follow-up with your request form.

12 Frequently Asked Questions Q. Is there anything my students need to do before Greenlight to College Month begins in order to participate? A. Yes! Your student should make sure to do the following before Greenlight to College Month begins: 1. Create a College Greenlight account (if they haven t done so already) 2. Complete their scholarship applications, FAFSA, Greenlight to College Scavenger Hunt Worksheet or take a selfie on a college campus 3. Submit their entries either throughout the month of February OR during the Marathon on Sat. February 28

13 Frequently Asked Questions Q. How does my student submit their entries for the raffles? A. Students can submit entries in 3 easy steps: 1. Go to 2. Enter their Name, CBO Name, Address they used to register for their College Greenlight account, and Entry Type and Scholarship Amount (if submitting a scholarship application). 3. Upload a screenshot or picture of their completed applications, college campus visit, or Scavenger Hunt Worksheet. Then hit submit!

14 Frequently Asked Questions Q. Can students participate in both the raffles and the marathon? A. Yes! We highly encourage students to participate in both the online raffles and the Marathon event since every submission will increase their chances of winning. Plus, students can get some great advice from experts on how to complete their scholarship applications, FAFSA and college research during our online Marathon.

15 Frequently Asked Questions Q. Is there a limit to how many scholarship applications or pictures that a student can submit to be eligible for the raffles? A. Absolutely not! Each completed application or college visit picture that a student uploads through will count as a separate entry in both our weekly raffles and the online Marathon.

16 Frequently Asked Questions Q. Is my student still eligible for the raffles if they haven t finished their scholarship applications or FAFSA? A. In order to be eligible for the raffles, we are asking that students only submit proof of their completed scholarship applications and FASFA. While we don t want to exclude any students from participating in Greenlight to College Month, our ultimate goal is to support you in your efforts to encourage your students to complete their FAFSA and scholarship applications. We hope that you will use these raffles as a way to motivate your students who are still working on scholarship applications or the FAFSA to get them done ASAP!

17 Frequently Asked Questions Q. Does my student need to be logged on for the entire Marathon in order to be eligible for the Amazon Gift Card raffles and $1,000 scholarship? A. No. Your students can logon at any time that is convenient for them between 9 AM 6 PM CST to submit their raffle entries. We encourage your students to plan their day accordingly so that they can also sit on the online presentation(s) that appeals to them most or spend 20 minutes in our Financial Aid/Scholarship and College Search chatrooms. NOTE: The entire schedule of events for the Marathon will be listed in the Facilitator Guide that will be sent to you shortly following this presentation.

18 Frequently Asked Questions Q. How do I obtain my weekly tracking report from College Greenlight so that I can view my students submissions? A. Your College Greenlight liaison will send you a link with more information on how to sign up for your weekly tracking report after this presentation. We will just need you to provide us with your organization s name, how many students are expected to participate, and which event your students will be submitting entries for (i.e.- weekly raffles, Marathon, or both).

19 Frequently Asked Questions Q. I m not sure that my students have enough time to participate in all the Greenlight to College Month activities. Do you have any suggestions for how to incorporate these activities into what I m already doing with students? A. The Greenlight to College Month activities are a great way for your students to complete their scholarship application, financial aid or college research requirements. Submitting proof for each raffle entry takes anywhere from 2-3 minutes with our easy upload tool and is something you can require your students to do so that you can better track their progress in completing your program s requirements.

20 Frequently Asked Questions Q. How do I make sure that my students get the most out of Greenlight to College Month in February? A. We have a ton of resources available to aid you in preparing your students now for the Greenlight to College Month. After this presentation, we will send you our Facilitator Guide which has everything you need to promote the events to your students and get them excited to participate.
