My main interests regard flows in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer, Wind Loads on Buildings, Turbulence Generation for Large Eddy Simulation, Natural Ventilation of Buildings and Multiphase Flows, such as Wind Transport of Sand and Snow. I have large experience in conducting consultancy activities, including relationships with clients at all activity stages, as well as conducting internally and externally funded Research and Development activities. I have knowledge of major international codes on Wind Actions on Buildings and Infrastructures and of current practices in Wind Engineering, including Wind Tunnel tests and their advantages and drawbacks in comparison with CFD simulations. I am used to give public oral presentations and teach in both Italian and English and I am also a skilled scientific programmer, with particular reference to OpenFoam C++ libraries, Ansys Fluent UDFs and Matlab/Octave routines for the analysis of CFD results. Driving licence B ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Recent Projects Windblown Sand protection of a large Railway Project in the Arabian Peninsula ( ) My company and a major academic institution were partner in the Sand Mitigation consultancy for a 1200 Km Railway Project in the Arabian Peninsula. Main project tasks where: the characterization of multiple site conditions on the base of literature results and available wind data analysis, the proposal of an innovative aerodynamic-based sand mitigation solution, the CFD simulation of wind flow over the mitigation measure and the railway infrastructure, the creation of a suitable multiphase flow model for sand transport and its application to the mitigation measure design. I was involved in all the project phases, and in particular I was co-responsible of the wind data analysis, the multiphase model writing and its boundary condition definition, and I was in charge of all the CFD simulations, the multiphase model implementation in OpenFoam and its application to the design of the required infrastructure. New Olympique Lyonnais Stadium (Lyon, FR, ) My company was in charge of wind loads determination for all design stages, through the use of CFD simulations. The study gave excellent results, also in comparison with required experimental wind tunnel tests for some particular configurations. These results where possible thanks to a correct turbulent inflow simulation for which I was in charge, and which I realized through the implementation of extremely recent methods in both a Fluent UDF and an OpenFoam library. I was also in charge of CFD result post-processing, for which I wrote specific Matlab/Octave routines, and for the analysis and commenting of CFD/Wind Tunnel result comparisons.
