Insite Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions ensure vital business continuity for organisations that rely on business-critical applications such as Microsoft Dynamics AX, Infor SunSystems and other SQL-based applications. The DR solution is typically required where: An application s role is business-critical (i.e. where essential services and revenue come to a halt without access to the application) or Where an organisation must ensure compliance with FCA, PRA, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations or meet regulatory requirements. 4 Key features of Insite Disaster Recovery for business-critical applications Real-time Data Replication to one of our UK Tier 3 data centres Insite uses Double Take Availability software to securely replicate application data in real time to a dedicated business continuity infrastructure located at one of Insite s Tier 3 data centres. A hybrid of physical and virtual servers is usually implemented to create the dedicated business continuity infrastructure. Recovery Time Objectives as short as two hours 24 x 7 continuous monitoring and alerting Insite uses sophisticated software to continuously monitor the health of disaster recovery infrastructure. This facilitates pro-active support which greatly enhances system uptime. When an alert is raised it is forwarded to our 24 x 7 service desk which takes appropriate action. Insite s premium disaster recovery service meets Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) as brief as two hours during the working day to minimise business disruption. RTOs of four and eight hours are also available. The RTO is the maximum tolerable length of time that the business-critical application can be down after a failure or disaster occurs; i.e., the extent to which the disaster/system failure interrupts normal operations, service and revenue. Recovery Point Objective of less than 5 minutes The Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for all Insite disaster recovery solutions is less than 5 minutes, which minimises the amount of lost work and data re-entry required in the event of a disaster. The RPO is the age of data that must be recovered from backup storage for normal operations to resume if the business-critical application suffers a catastrophic failure. The RPO is expressed backward in time (that is, into the past) from the instant at which the failure occurs. Zero Impact Testing for business as usual All infrastructure is monitored 24/7 in granular detail using best-of-breed software. If thresholds are breached or error conditions are detected, alerts are raised automatically Insite has designed its disaster recovery solution to support zero impact testing. Instead of introducing the risk of taking production systems off-line and costly, inconvenient out-of-hours testing, Insite s disaster recovery solutions are normally tested during working hours without any interruption to production systems. 4

5 Key features continued Business-ready support Insite s experienced support team undertakes daily administration and on-going support of the disaster recovery infrastructure. With multiple infrastructures under management, our support and service are second to none. Critical faults are diagnosed and resolved 24 x 7 to ensure it is always possible to invoke the disaster recovery system. Cover for all other fault priorities is provided between and Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Issues can be logged by phone, or through the Insite support portal. Incidents are prioritised and assigned to the appropriate resolver group 24/7 Service Level Agreement The disaster recovery service is governed by a stringent Service Level Agreement (SLA) which specifies response and fix times for support issues. Just as importantly, Insite guarantees >99.9% availability*; if we fail to achieve this figure service credits apply. Secure, high availability Internet connectivity Business-critical business continuity systems can be securely accessed using the Internet or a private wide area network. Non-stop Internet access is assured by: High capacity, multi-homed Internet connections from different Internet Service Providers Clustered EAL-4 firewalls, which comprehensively protect all infrastructure under management Cisco Intrusion Detection Sensors, which protect against complex attacks, automatically killing connections if suspicious activity is detected Clustered AEP Netilla appliances, which provide secure browser based access to Citrix or Terminal Server desktops for any authorised user with an Internet connection Tenable Passive Vulnerability Scanner, which continuously monitors network traffic to eliminate blind spots by identifying vulnerabilities and threats in real-time. Change management Insite takes responsibility for all changes to the disaster recovery infrastructure. ITIL best practice is followed to ensure that changes are made in a controlled way to minimise the risk of business disruption. Change Requests are authorised by both parties and include a regression path. Capacity planning Insite undertakes client-specific capacity planning twice per year and submits a report to each client. The reports include current utilisation, available capacity and recommendations for enhancements and upgrades. * >99.95% for resilient infrastructure deployments with no single points of failure. 5
