2 Congratulations! Someone thinks you ROCK, and we do too! The workplace campaign coordinator is a very important person. Only the bravest people ever get to be workplace campaign coordinators. 3 Let s talk about you. Your Title: SCUFFY Workplace Campaign Coordinator Your Role: Raise money for the 2016 SCUFFY campaign to support the great work that our thirteen member agencies do each day for the Shelby County community. How: Be a leader. Inspire others to support that little man with the great big heart. And above all, have FUN. Prior to the campaign: Join us for our Open House on February 24 th between Noon - 5P. Enjoy some refreshments, pick up your packets and check out our 2016 campaign materials. If you can t make it, we will bring them to you! Ask some colleagues to join your team. Everything is more fun with friends. Things to consider: o This year s campaign theme: SCUFFY Refuses to Waste a Penny! o Do you want to offer incentives or prizes? o Will you have any special events? o Will you have any friendly inside competition? Make sure the big guy is in the loop. What fundraising goals does your leadership team have in mind? During the campaign: Bring your friends and join us for our Campaign Kick-Off breakfast on Wednesday, March 2 at 8AM at Occasions Banquet Hall. Join us for our Annual Giving From The Heart day event immediately following the Kick-Off breakfast, when you and your team can participate in projects serving our member agencies. Schedule workplace presentations. Simply call our office ( ) or us (angie@scuffy.org). We can accommodate any days, shifts, etc. that you need us for, and will tailor the presentations to meet your needs. Hold your own kick-off. Page 3

4 SET A GOAL. Make it slightly higher than the previous year. Track your progress and let people know how close you are. Make sure everyone is provided with the opportunity to give. Payroll deduction is the EASIEST way to contribute to the campaign. As your workplace campaign wraps up: Keep us in the loop of where you are at. You can give us preliminary numbers along the way, and try to get final numbers to us at least a week prior to the end of our campaign, which is on May 4 th. We will be checking in with you periodically to see if you need anything and to see if you have any updates for us. WE PANIC if we don t hear from you!!! Please don t make us panic! May 4 th, 2016 Finally. The End Of The SCUFFY Campaign Has Arrived! We will celebrate the end of our 62 nd annual campaign with a Dinner at Maxim Events, followed by announcing our final result, which will surely lead us to our 2016 goal of $820, to support our Shelby County community. We hope you and your team will be there to join us! Page 4

5 In My Toolbox. In My Hand: Brochures/ Pledge cards - enough for all of your employees! If you need more, just ask. Your Campaign Envelope - it shows your organization s total pledge to the 2015 campaign to help you set your 2016 goal. When you return it, please make sure that your information such as address, phone number, , etc. are correct. Other Campaign materials: o A Day in the Life of our SCUFFY family brochure o Every $ Makes A Difference brochure o Thermometer Poster to record your goal and track your progress o 2016 Campaign Poster - just tell us how many you need On-line: - All campaign materials and brochures can be found on our webpage to use in electronic format, or for your own printing purposes. Simply scroll down on the home page and click the Campaign Resources button. Each page on our website has a donate now link if an employee would like to use a credit card with a PayPal account. Other credit card payments can be made via phone with our office ( ) or by filling out the required information on the pledge card. In this Booklet: Facebook Blasts and Twitter Tweets! We can t escape them. Social Networking is a part of our everyday life. You can reach many of your colleagues via Social Networking for additional inspiration and keeping them informed about your workplace campaign. We ve included a few sample posts and tweets. Make them your own! and Snail Mail: Though it seems that way, NOT everyone has a Facebook and/or Twitter account. Some still prefer the good old-fashioned and snail mail. Page 5

6 Let s ace it (Facebook Posts) First! Like Shelby County United Fund If your company has a Facebook page, share your campaign progress, fun events, dates, etc. If it s something you d like us to share on our page, make sure you tag us in your posts. We ll help you spread your good news! Some sample posts could be: SCUFFY agencies touch hundreds of lives throughout Shelby County every day. It might be you, a family member, friend, or co-worker. You can make a difference. Have you made your pledge? It is important to (company s name) to partner with an organization that has a history of making a difference in our community. For 62 years, SCUFFY has been an integral part of Shelby County and taking care of the needs of our neighbors. Did you know that in 2015 Girls Inc. shared programming with 1740 girls in the center and through outreach? SCUFFY at work in our community each day! Did you know that each day after school an average of 223 boys and girls attend the Shelbyville Boys Club, and 90 plus boys and girls attend the Morristown Club? SCUFFY making a difference in our children s lives every day. Did you know that for the 2015/16 School Year, SCUFFY supported all Shelby County schools with $13,550 in funding through their Project Clothes For Kids program? Did you know that in 2015 Shelby Senior Services had 28,859 participants sign in for their events at the centers in Shelbyville, Fairland, Morristown and Waldron? Did you know that in 2015, the Cancer Association of Shelby County assisted 87 cancer patients with one or more services totalling $95, Finally: Thanks to all of our (company) employees for the generosity, you have shown during our SCUFFY campaign. 8 Messages throughout the campaign An message once a week during your workplace campaign can help inspire others to give and keep them updated on your progress. It also helps to serve as reminders for events, meetings, and of course, getting those pledge cards turned back in! Snail Mail, Memos and Letters from the Top! Getting support from your company s leadership team is hugely impactful for your campaign. When your colleagues know that top management supports giving back to the community it inspires others to do the same. Possibly you can get your CEO to draft a memo or letter to all employees that can be distributed and posted for everyone? Possibly you can get various members of your top management to each draft memos supporting the campaign that you can share once a week? You know your corporate culture best. What will inspire your employees to participate in the campaign? Page 8
