This course will also help prepare individuals that are studying for the exam. Who should take this course? This course is designed for anyone with experience in network design and troubleshooting (Network+) or configuring and installing Windows server operating systems, and who wish to enhance and expand their skill set using features of Windows Server 2008 Domain Controllers, Read Only Domain Controllers (RODC) and Core-Server. This course is also recommended for IT Technicians who are in the process of planning upgrades or new installations of Windows Server 2008 Domain Controllers. Course Objectives Install and configure a new Windows 2008 Active Directory Forest on multiple Windows 2008 servers. Utilize Windows 2008 server installation options, i.e. Read\Write, Read Only or Core based on security needs, physical location and network bandwidth requirements. Configure and deploy Group Policy in a Windows 2008 Active Directory domain by using the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). Plan, implement and test account/group permission to resources using the AGDLP (Accounts, Global Groups, Domain Local, Permissions) model. Define and indentify the Global Catalog server (GC) and Flexible Single Master Operations roles (FSMO). Demonstrate Windows 2008 Active Directory troubleshooting skills by using and interpreting results from DCDIAG, NLTEST, REPLADMIN and Event Viewer logs error IDs. Document the technical requirements and theory for prevention of and recovering from an Active Directory disaster. The above prerequisites are considered to be the basic skills and knowledge needed prior to taking this class.
