1 McNeese State University OVERVIEW: Program Completer Data and Five Year Projections This report includes two worksheets pertaining to completers and program completer projections. The first shows completers and projections aggregated by all programs per industry sector. The second worksheet disaggregates by program offerings, with exception to education where degree programs are aggregated by level of certification. For example, all programs, regardless of discipline, that lead to initial certification at the secondary level are combined. Education data does not include non degree seeking initial certification candidates. In another case, the MS in Environmental and Chemical is included in both the Agriculture Environmental Science industry sector and the Engineering/Petro Chem industry sector since the degree program contains concentrations that apply to both. Completers and projections for this program were not disaggregated by concentration. McNeese submits program completer data to the Louisiana Board of Regents on a regular basis. These numbers are verified and updated annually on the BOR data and publications site. Thus, the first set of completer numbers ( ) are official numbers as reported to the BOR and verified. In some cases, however, programs were combined to reflect current offerings. For instance in, BS degrees in Environmental Science and Wildlife Management were combined to create the BS in Natural Resource Conservation Management. For purposes of this report, all completers are reported in the NRCM results. Regarding prospective completers: figures (AY '13 '14 and beyond) are based on current enrollments at each level and historical trends. There are, of course, many complex variables that cannot be easily accounted for including budget, changes in state law and governing board policies that impact admissions standards, formula funding, program mix, and so on. Additionally, demographics and patterns in student mobility, particularly among transfer and re entry students create challenges and opportunities for program retention and growth. At the institutional level, McNeese regularly engages in recruitment activities and explores policies and incentives to recruit prospective students and ensure retention. Details of many of these programs can be found on McNeese's annual Grad Act report to the Louisiana Board of Regents (regents.louisiana.gov).
