5 Nursing Graduate Survey Results: Class of 2008 Introduction Since 1972, Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) has conducted an annual survey of its graduates. The graduate survey contains questions regarding educational goals, employment, and the impact NOVA has had on the employment and continuing education of its graduates. In addition to the graduate survey, a special survey is sent to all graduates of NOVA s Nursing Program by the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment (OIR) at NOVA. All 184 students who graduated from the Nursing Program during the 2007 to 2008 academic year were sent an from OIR requesting their participation in the survey. Two rounds of s with the direct link to the online survey were sent to both personal and Virginia Community College System (VCCS) accounts for each nursing graduate. Of the 184 Nursing Program graduates, 26 responded to the survey a 14.1% response rate. The Nursing Graduate Survey included three sections of questions (sections A through C). This report presents responses to Nursing Graduate Survey questions in the same order as they appeared in the survey. This document reports survey question responses only; an analysis of survey data will be included in a future document. All responses are presented in table format and include three columns. The first column shows individual response items for each question. The second and third columns show the number and percentage of responses to each response item. Some of the questions included on the Nursing Graduate Survey allowed graduates to give more than one response (multiple responses). For these questions, the number of responses for each item is shown in the second column and the total number of responses (n) is provided in the last row of the table. Some of the survey questions provided an other response for the graduates to write down specific answers. Though specific responses from the other item were not recorded, the response other was reported. 1
