12 ... Being Ourselves...

13

14 A What's ia the glasses, fellas? And the boys say the girls gossip! You wouldn't dare! With friends like that, who needs enemies? 10 Hard at work in class? Friendships made during our high school years are very important. They help to make us what we are. Football games, pep-rallies, picnics, and even classes would be nothin~ without our friends. When graduation comes, and everyone goes his separate way of life, the Pilot Staff hopes you will look back on these pages and remember your friends at N.H.S.

20 HIGH Dedication of a man and a book. Sports play a big part in the life of Nederland High School. The excitement of competition dwells in the hearts of all her students; the joy of winning, and the misery of losing. But win or lose, everyone will remember the great fun at football games, baseball games, basketball, and track. This year, the Pilot Staff dedicates the Pilot to one of the people who help to make our Athletic Department as successful as it is. He is loved and respected by all those who know him. So with great affection we dedicate this book to COACH HARRY FONTENOT 16 Kitty Halphen, Pilot editor, makes the presentation to the coach.

21 Administration The new Nederland High School has progressed from the planning stage in 1969 to the present stage in Students, teachers, and administrators look forward to its completion in Messrs. Cha.des Thomas, Ralph Raines, E. H. McKenzie, Joe Fiedler, and George Ingram.

73 A Time For Remembering Remembering the final walk Remembering the good and bad times you had in Algebra and Trig... Remembering the happiness of getting YOUR flower 69

74 Remember When: You were so nervous until you found out that everyone was just as nervous as you were... You were so happy that your smile couldn't have been bigger... You had to get up in front of a lot of people, and your knees started shaking... 70

75 All the flowers were gone, but you didn't come out empty-handed... You tried so hard to stay in step... You danced all night at the Prom.. You kinda felt sad to leave, after it was all over with.. You laughed so hard at the KA YC game...

138 The Pilot Staff The Pilot Staff is a group at N.H.S. which each year dedicates itself to the task of producing a yearbook even better than the one before. Far from being short and sweet, the job of producing the annual is a long and tedious one. But the end result is a book full of memories from cover to cover, which will last long after these students leave.h.s. Editor, Kitty Halphen, takes time off to pose for a picture. But Mrs. Fleming, if we clean the room, we will never find anything! 134 Business manager, Regina Magee is obviously hard at work, but is that for the annual?
