1 Call for Entries Logo design for the European project DanSCe Dialogues 2 Frame of the call for proposals: The partners of the European project DanSCe Dialogues 2 are calling for entries for the creation of their logo. ODIA Normandie (the Artistic Development Office of Normandy), the lead partner, will coordinate this call for proposals. The winning entry will be selected by a jury consisting of members of the partner organisations. The winning entry will be used as the basis for all branding for the twoyear project. The winning logo will be displayed on all media and communications for the DanSCe Dialogues 2 programme activities. Not required as part of this tender: The winning entry will be transformed into the appropriate digital media by the lead organisation. DanSCeDialogues 2:project s presentation The goal of DanSCe Dialogues 2 is to foster sustainable conditions to support Franco British contemporary dance professionals across the dance sector. It deals with the creation of development schemes on both sides of the channel, according to territorial identities. Several regional agencies for artistic development, production venues, touring venues and one university will work to stimulate artistic innovation and cooperation specifically between France and the UK. The nine project partners are: L ODIA Normandie (Rouen et Caen, Normandie) The Point (Eastleigh, Hampshire) South East Dance (Brighton, Sussex) Take Art (South Petherton, Somerset) ICIA / University of Bath (Bath, Somerset) Spectacle Vivant en Bretagne (Rennes, Bretagne) Le Triangle, cité de la danse (Rennes, Bretagne)
2 Le Centre chorégraphique national de Caen / Basse-Normandie, Le Phare, Centre chorégraphique national du Havre / Haute-Normandie. The project will take place between October 1, 2012 and October 31, The activities of the project promote: - The cultural attractiveness of the Franco British Channel area - The transfer of knowledge and skills between English and French participants, and also between generations. - The extension and the enlargement of a professional network in contemporary dance sector. Within the context and the challenges identified above, the activities of the project can be categorised in 4 different areas: - Research and experimentation: research and creation laboratories, artistic residencies - Training and exchange of best practices: exchanges and skills development in the research and creation laboratories, conferences, job shadowing or internship experiences; - Programming and network development: programming of choreographic works, presentation of works-in-progress and master classes and choreographic workshops, professional meeting days - Project management, coordination and marketing strategy: The partners will engage coordinators, organise meetings, create a website, implement a communication campaign, hold press conferences.
3 Guidelines for entries: - The logo acts as the visual identity for DanSCe Dialogues 2. - The logo must be distinctive, original and visible (from a distance and close up). - The logo is for a wide audience (local, national, international) and will be placed in different environments (artistic, institutional, academic, and economic). - It must project and embody the values of the DanSCe Dialogues 2 programme, particularly its size, the Anglo-French artistic rigour, its specificity and its art form: contemporary dance. - The logo should be distinctly different from the first DanSCe Dialogues 1 logo (see below) so that DD2 has its own identity. - The name DanSCe Dialogues 2 will be a mandatory part of the logo. - The proposal will include a typographic work and a graphic icon representing the project. - It will be contemporary and reflect the current design trends over the timeframe for this project that will run for three years. - The logo will be used on documents and communication materials published by DanSCe Dialogues 2. It will also be integrated within all the partners communication media, and so will need to fit in their visual environment. - The logo and its variations will be used on a variety of media: Printed materials (brochures, press, stationery, display) screens (websites, mobile etc.), signage, promotional items and more.
