4 MAKE THE MOST OF EMV MIGRATION MIGRATE SMOOTHLY THANKS TO TURNKEY SOLUTIONS USE CASE LAUNCH OF A CPA CARD USE CASE EMV FOR TRAVELLERS IN THE USA USE CASE FROM CONTACT TO DUAL INTERFACE In MEA region, a national bank wanted to enhance security for national payment without using schemes defined applications. Through EMV-In-A-Box, Oberthur Technologies was able to advise them and then deliver CPA based cards following all customer s requirements. US Issuers had to manage payment acceptance problems encountered by their cardholders when travelling in Europe. Their requirements were to be able to serve their customers with EMV cards that would be accepted in Europe where EMV has been massively adopted. With EMV-In-A-Box, Oberthur Technologies helped those issuers to rapidly answer their customers need. Specific profiles have been defined allowing cardholders to pay with an EMV card where their magnetic stripe card was previously rejected. In Europe region, Issuer strategy was to promote dual interface card to their cardholders. Thanks to EMV-In-A-Box, Oberthur Technologies provided different sets of profiles on cards that were tested by the customer. In addition, the project definition allowed the launch of multi-application cards with payment and transport applications. Following this EMV-In-A-Box project, the issuer s portfolio includes now dual-interface multiapplication cards proposed in prepaid, debit and credit flavours.
