A quorum was declared. Minutes of July Board meeting were approved as presented. Music for the meeting was provided by Dave Shupe, using his cell phone. President s Report Regional Conference Annapolis, 2010 Our Chapter responsible for Hospitality. We must use the hotel s services. One drink included in registration, then cash bar. Jim Snowa will attend. No others. Golf Tournament for fund raising, October 2010, Barbe informed Norm Royce that there would be golf only, not a product show. It was decided that it was not in everyone s best interest to move forward with the golf tournament. Immediate Past President Weisensale, not present. President Elect - Regional Conference (MARC), Richmond Janet reported that Richmond s Hilton Garden Inn would be the location of the conference, with a room rate of $119 per person. A contract is to be signed on August 27 th. Participation of many members will be required, as well as sponsors. Vice President Robert Vaughn discussed the Architectural Exchange to be held at the Richmond Convention Center, November 3-5. Treasurer Gib presented a summary of bank transactions and a financial statement. (Attached) Current bank balance is Committee Reports Advertising Advertising structure will remain the same. Nancy Farkas agreed to work on the advertising committee. Barbe gave Nancy a menu of potential sponsorship opportunities. The events needing sponsors are Christmas, Awards and Midwinter. Awards Ken Cordo has agreed to serve as Chair, with Bob Vaughn assisting. The CSI Website has suggested National Awards. By Laws Dave Shupe says National has made a detailed review of our suggested By Laws. Levels of memberships to be established before completing this work. Certification No report. President Barbe says discussion of learning units is needed. Technical / Scholarships Paul says we need to know money available at years end to make decisions regarding scholarships. Programs/Education Mike Bricker looking for program topics. List of meeting dates and locations were presented. Phone tree Norm Jacobs to designate new tree participants. Updated roster has been distributed. Membership President Barbe showed Allentown documents illustrating reason to join CSI, and will adapt to our chapter. Three new membership leads, no response yet. Firms encouraged to bring their younger staff members into CSI. Hospitality.- Nancy Farkas announced the Holiday gathering to be a buffet dinner on December 16 at Westwood Club. Planned for 50 people. Publications Norm Jacobs asks for Report materials next week. Website Steve not present. Directors See list on meeting agenda. Some discussion of involvement of the Directors in specific committees. Barbe presented organization chart. No new or old business Meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm. Next Board meeting to be announced. 10 Richmond Chapter CSI Calendar of Events All Chapter dinner meetings are held at the Westwood Club, 6500 West Club Lane, Richmond, VA (unless otherwise noted, below). These meetings offer members and guests a chance to network, as well as obtain valuable insight on important technical topics. Our programs are registered with the AIA and AIA members will receive 1.0 learning units for each program, often including health, safety and welfare credits, depending on the topic. Dinner meetings occur subject to the following schedule (unless otherwise noted): Board Meeting: 4:30 PM, Club Board Room.
