All volume planned to be offered on the Medford/Park Falls and Great Divide Ranger Districts is the result of a windstorm that occurred in September of The overall geographic distribution of volume is West Side 62% East Side 38%. This distribution approximates those identified in the 2004 Land and Resource Management Plan. In addition, through the Good Neighbor Authority Agreement signed between the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and the State of Wisconsin, The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry plans to offer approximately 25 MMBF or 32,000 cords of National Forest timber volume in up to 75 individual timber sale contracts. These sales will occur in Oconto, Forest, Vilas, Bayfield, Sawyer, Price, and Ashland counties. At present, we have not established any small business set-aside sales. Should further analysis determine the need for a set-aside program, you will be notified. We continue to no longer ask that you select the individual sales of interest to you. We have generated East Side, West Side and All Sales mailing lists. These lists are used to distribute prospective bidder letters at the time of individual sale advertisements. If you wish to verify that you are on your desired mailing list, please contact Tina Baumann at More detailed information concerning each tract can be obtained at the time of advertisement from this office or from the districts involved.
