1 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SOLAR CUSTOMERS VICTORIA Please note: Only your current electricity retailer can request the installation of a solar meter for your property. If you are not a current customer of Red Energy (but would like to be), you have 2 options: 1. Request your current retailer to have the solar meter installed, and then arrange a transfer to Red Energy once this is completed. 2. Transfer your current electricity supply to Red Energy, and once this is complete, then have the solar meter installed. This transfer will usually take at least 2-3 weeks. To arrange a transfer please call us on Below is an outline of the steps involved in installing Solar (with Red Energy): Step 1: Review the costs and price changes associated with changing to Solar Once your meter has been changed, your tariff charges with Red Energy will need to change to new solar rates. For our current solar tariffs, please call our team on and we will be happy to assist. Please note if you currently have dedicated or controlled load e.g. Slab heating, dedicated hot water heating or climate saver air conditioning, these circuits may not be supported by the metering or your distributor under the various Feed-in tariffs. If you currently have a dedicated or controlled load please contact us for further information. Step 3: Once you have the Solar Panels installed: You (or your electrician/solar installer) will need to send us your completed Electrical Work Request (EWR) and a copy of your Certificate of Electrical Safety (CES). Each distributor has different requirements for the solar connection form that needs to be submitted, please refer to their websites for the most up to date information. Links are included below: Jemena and United require a Photovoltaic (Solar) Generator Connection Form (PSG) form to be submitted with the EWR and CES Jemena: United: Powercor and Citipower require pre-approval to be obtained before the installation takes place. Powercor and Citipower: Ausnet have their own Alteration or Upgrade of Inverter Energy System (IES) form. Ausnet: Please send these forms to: Red Energy or Fax (03) PO Box 4136 East Richmond VIC to: Step 4. Meter Installation Once we have received all the information above (and providing you are a Red Energy customer), we will arrange for your solar meter to be installed or current meter to be reconfigured for solar. This installation can take up to 20 business days. This process usually takes around an hour and, provided there is clear access to the meter, inverter and switchboard, you generally are not required to be at the premises.

5 Step 5. Meter Installation complete Once your meter has been changed to a solar meter, we will send you a letter confirming the change. Please note from that point on, you will see at least two usage lines on your bill: the net electricity usage of your property i.e. this is the amount you have consumed after using what your solar panels have produced; and your electricity export this is the amount your solar panels have produced above your properties consumption and exported into the network. Please note, we are not able to tell you how much energy your solar panels are producing in total. Further Information: If you have any questions please call us on , we re always happy to help. Our team is available Monday to Friday 8am to 8.30pm and Saturday 9am to 5.30pm.
