1 SPSS 25 Windows Installation Instructions Installation Notes You must be an Administrator on the computer to complete the installation. Do NOT install the SPSS software on another user s computer. To remain in compliance with vendor s license agreement, we are required to account for every user installation. Each user needing SPSS is required to submit the SPSS Software Request form at the ECU Download Center. Ensure you meet the System Requirements for IBM SPSS Statistics before you begin. Authorization Code. Ensure you retrieve the license authorization code sent to you in the automatic . You will need it during the software installation. License type. Ensure you select the AUTHORIZED USER LICENSE option during the installation. Running multiple versions and/or upgrading from a previous version. You do not need to uninstall an old version of IBM SPSS Statistics before installing the new version. Multiple versions can be installed and run on the same machine. However, do not install the new version in the same directory in which a previous version is installed. Highly Recommended: Disable your virus protection and/or firewall BEFORE you start the installation. Essentials for Python. You are prompted to install IBM SPSS Statistics Essentials for Python. Essentials for Python provides you with the tools to develop custom Python applications for use with IBM SPSS Statistics, and to run extension commands that are implemented in the Python language. It includes Python version 2.7, the IBM SPSS Statistics - Integration Plug-in for Python, and a set of Python extension commands that provide capabilities beyond what is available with built-in SPSS Statistics procedures. For more information, see Integration Plug-in for Python in the Help system. To accept the default option to install IBM SPSS Statistics - Essentials for Python, you must accept the associated license agreement. These instructions are for Windows 10 64Bit operating system. If you are installing on a different Windows version, screens displayed may vary, but will be similar. Follow the prompts on the screen. Technical Support. Installation Instructions Click the applicable SPSS 25 for Windows installation file. You may be prompted to reenter your ECU PirateID credentials to access the installation file. If yes, please enter in order to download the file. Select Save File. Unless you have chosen another location, it will by default save to your Downloads folder

2 Click Next> Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next>

3 If Essentials for Python is needed, leave as Yes ; otherwise, select No. Click Next>

4 Click Next> Click Install to begin the installation.

5 Installation begins.

6 Click Finish Select Authorized user license and click Next>

7 Enter the license authorization code you received in the automatic . IMPORTANT NOTE: Software version and license code for that version MUST match. Click Next>

8 Click Next>

9 Click Finish
