1 Job Description Job Title: IT Change Manager (BISRID_035 & 036) Reports to: Team: Status: Location: Head of Business Integration BIS Permanent Nelson Job Purpose The IT change manager will be responsible for ensuring that the impact of new or upgraded IT systems and projects is managed in an effective way to ensure the delivery of desired business outcomes. The IT change manager will work with the business change or business improvement teams to support and guide them through the required steps to implement systems related change. The change manager will help to articulate the way in which changes will affect the users on a dayto-day basis. The successful candidate will work with multiple partner organisations to ensure effective delivery of change, building relationships that support the delivery of the BIS programme and its vision of modern, integrated IT systems supporting the whole DCWW business. The IT change manager will lead the change management stream for specified BIS projects and must ensure that the change workstream for each project level is managed in an effective and efficient manner to achieve the successful delivery of the stated business objectives for each project, at all times working within the principles of the BIS change management approach. The change manager also runs the internal change management effort for BIS and has an ongoing role as a business liaison manager for their assigned business unit.

2 Principal Accountabilities The role of the IT Change Manager is to ensure that the BIS programme of I.T. change is understood, that users are trained to use the new systems and that business processes and working practices across the business are adjusted to take on systems that will drive tangible business benefits. The change manager must ensure that each project is effectively delivered into the relevant business areas by means of carefully planned and co-ordinated change management programmes. Specifically, the IT Change Manager will: o o ensure each different business area is sufficiently prepared for the impact of the new IT systems as and when they are ready to go live, and ensure there is sufficient support available for the new system to operate in business as usual state. The change manager will lead the appointed team for each project (or system) and must ensure that the change workstream is managed in an effective and efficient manner. Principally, the IT Change Manager will be challenged with ensuring the successful delivery of the stated business objectives for each project. Key Roles & Responsibilities At a BIS Programme level (i.e. the internal BIS customer): To be responsible for the delivery of effective change management, which includes the promotion of business vision, and maintaining the benefit framework that links project delivery to the achievement of business benefits for the BIS programme. To identify and support any additional change managers, change agents, and support users required for projects or systems, supporting the development of appropriate change management plans for all BIS projects with change management requirements. To deliver customer facing and internal change management activities to ensure ongoing stakeholder and user engagement. Work to resolve soft tensions between BIS, BIS projects and the relevant business areas, flagging any potential issues to the Business Integration Lead and within the change team. To liaise with the owners of the relevant plans for training, communications and stakeholder management to ensure that BIS project change requirements remain fully linked to and part of the overall process for change management across BIS. To ensure any programme change risks or issues are highlighted in good time to the appropriate boards. To ensure the delivery of any allocated project change management requirements.

3 Working with operational managers to embed changes within the business. Identifying what changes in processes, procedures and practices are needed to achieve change and deliver the planned benefits. Writing, refining and updating programme benefits profiles and undertaking regular reviews with Project Managers to assess the benefits and disadvantages arising in the course of programmes. Such other activities as may be required to fulfil your responsibilities. On Project assignments: When allocated to a project, the Change Manager is responsible for delivering the business change for the project, under the guidance of the programme change manager. Activities will include: Plan business change activities for the project Deliver and implement Project Change approach, plan and strategy Coordinate the design and delivery of: Business Implementation Team and/or Change Network(engage with users) Communications strategy and plan Training Needs Analysis strategy and plan Appropriate change impact assessment work Business Readiness activities Stakeholder Engagement and management approach Lead and promote effective ways of working within the team Lead the transition to BAU Reporting, planning, managing to plan, managing risks/issues, appropriate escalation Such other activities as may be required to fulfil your responsibilities Principal Relationships The principal relationships are with the following: - Business Information Services team Business Improvement Teams Project business owners, project managers and change teams Process owners and expert users of BIS systems

4 Experience, Qualifications and Skills Assessment Method A I T Up to 5 years relevant experience in project change, in particular with SAP, standard change management methodologies and change assurance. Good working knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies, SAP system structure, functionality and implementation approaches, together with a broad understanding of change management practices. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence across the organisation and externally and the confidence to represent BIS, including public speaking as necessary. Good knowledge of standard change management methodologies and change assurance. Good understanding of the unique structure of the Welsh Water operating model and the contractual relationships between partners involved Detailed understanding of the impact of change, the interdependencies and impact on the business. Track record of successful change management achieving identified business benefits.
