3 Background 1. Peanut Maturity Work at the NPRL determined an adjusted growing degree day for predicting peanut maturity: temperature + water Subsequent testing ( current) in Georgia and Florida confirmed agdd threshold 2500 for most cultivars 2. Peanut Irrigation Scheduling J. Bennett and A. Drew developed irrigation scheduling tool using canopy cover to estimate crop coefficients We will use accumulated agdd as a surrogate % cover agdd

4 Goal: launch agdd tools on a web platform Calculation of agdd s (via weather station or field based data) Irrigation Scheduling: root zone water holding capacity daily ET rates agdd = percent cover = crop coefficient Maturity Prediction: cumulative agdd s to a threshold of 2500 combined with digital profile analysis
