Those communication skills translate directly into a client benefit. To achieve this, Manna uses a mix of old-fashioned in-person meetings and the latest remote meeting technology. Online, Interactive Design Proofing No More Whisper Down the Lane Your comments and feedback go directly to our design team, in your own words, complete with markups. To achieve this, Manna uses very powerful Online Proofing software to share design concepts and gather input and final approvals from clients. We use this for in-person meetings, as well as phone or virtual meetings - whatever the client's comfort level. The system supports multiple levels of reviewers and approvers, as well as invitations just to look at the work, without commenting ability. All of the comments and mark ups are shared via and are viewable on the left sidebar. Comments can be hidden and are shown by small read icons on the image. Perhaps the nicest feature is the ability to compare side by side two versions of the same object. This enables us to take your feedback, make changes and then show you the differences side by side. Currently, we do not know of any other design firm in the area using this type of tool. We feel it helps projects move along much smoother with clean, clear client feedback and input. The Project Hub is a custom developed, interactive communication center for sharing ideas, directions and updates about web, print and marketing projects. It is a culmination of years of project experience and dedicated professional project management training. Our system allows us to complete projects on time with clear, logical planning and scheduling. You can see who is tasked, when it is due, notes and comments The Messages tab is where everyone on the project communicates. No more lost s or leaving someone out of a conversation. The Notebook tab is where you can upload instructions, content and other text based information for the project. 9 Manna Goes Green! Green Hosting? Our server partners plant trees to balance our carbon output! We spent a lot of time researching other options for offsetting our impact, including Renewable Energy Certificates, and feel like we've made the right choice. Lots of other companies are offsetting some of their energy use with RECs. At this point, however, the effectiveness of those certificates is unclear, and the purchaser's actual energy use is still almost entirely generated by greenhouse gas producing fossil fuels. We ve got our head in the clouds As of 2010 Manna has turned off its energy hogging servers and moved all our company files to the Cloud. Why? Besides being more reliable with redundant backups, 24/7 onsite network engineers, and being accessible from anywhere in the world (we re big on working pool-side), recent studies have shown Cloud Computing to reduce the IT carbon footprints by up to 90%. With the world s IT consuming over 2% of the world s energy, reducing that by such a significant amount is a good step forward. Forced to Walk to Work Jersey/Philadelphia. How does that help with our green effort? It s true. All of Manna s employees walk to work every single day, but it s not as bad as it sounds. For over four years Manna s offices have been virtual, located all over the country and headquartered in South The EPA estimates the average passenger vehicle gets 20 MPG. Each gallon emits 20 pounds of carbon dioxide. Manna employees were traveling about 170 miles per day. So 170 Miles/Day = 42.5 Gallons Gas/Week = 850 Pounds of CO2/Week = 42,500 Lbs CO2/ Year. It takes almost 4 acres of Douglas fir trees working an entire year to absorb that much CO2. Working Waste-Free We are proud to say that we are virtually waste free as a company! Thanks to our remote workforce, we produce none of the waste that comes from a typical office environment. The only waste we haven't eliminated is a small amount of paper which is recycled, and this is due for banking, and a few other organizations we work with, not being completely paperless yet. Once they go paperless we will not generate any physical waste! There s power in numbers We re small, but we re trying to do our part!
