JANUARY 26, 2015, PRAGUE CASTLE SPANISH HALL (TBC) THE WORLD CIVIL SOCIETY FORUM WILL BE HELD AT THE LEVEL OF PRESIDENTS OF PARLIAMENTS FROM EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. THE FORUM WILL BE ORGANIZED IN COLLABORATION WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OTHER EU INSTITUTIONS, THE SPEAKER OF THE KNESSET, THE TEREZIN MEMORIAL AND YAD VASHEM THE HOLOCAUST MARTYRS AND HEROES REMEMBRANCE AUTHORITY. THE FORUM WILL PRIMARILY ADDRESS THE RISE OF ANTI-SEMITISM AND RACISM IN EUROPE. 11 WORLD HOLOCAUST FORUM COMMEMORATION CEREMONY JANUARY 27, 2015, TEREZIN JEWISH CEMETERY TRAVEL TO TEREZIN THE JOURNEY FROM PRAGUE TO TEREZIN WILL TAKE MINUTES. THE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE INVITED TO TAKE PART IN THE OFFICIAL COMMEMORATION CEREMONY. OFFICIAL COMMEMORATION CEREMONY DURING WORLD WAR II, THE NAZIS ESTABLISHED THE THERESIENSTADT GHETTO-CAMP IN TEREZIN, IN WHAT IS NOW THE CZECH REPUBLIC, WHICH SERVED AS A TRANSIT SITE FOR JEWS ON THE WAY TO EXTERMINATION CAMPS. TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DIED THERE OF MALNUTRITION AND DISEASES, AND MANY OTHERS FOUND THEIR DEATH BEFORE THEY REACHED THE CAMP. IN THE SPRING OF 1945 TEREZIN WAS LIBERATED BY SOVIET TROOPS AND THE THERESIENSTADT GHETTO WAS PLACED UNDER THE PROTECTION OF THE INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS. THE CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE OUTDOORS AND WILL INCLUDE KEY SPEECHES, LIGHTING CANDLES AND A MARCH OF SOLIDARITY IN MEMORY OF ALL THE VICTIMS. THE CEREMONY WILL COME TO AN END WITH A UNITING MINUTE OF SILENCE. AT THIS POINT THERE WILL BE A LIVE CONNECTION THROUGH VIDEO CONFERENCE WITH DELEGATIONS IN MAJOR CONCENTRATION AND DEATH CAMPS IN EUROPE. 9
