2 Mission the City Colleges of Chicago is a system of seven community colleges that provides learning opportunities for Chicago s diverse populations to enhance their knowledge and skills through quality, comprehensive, and affordable, educational programs and services.
3 History District founded in 1911 One of the largest urban community college systems in the nation Transitioned from junior colleges to community colleges -1960s 4 instructional areas are Liberal Arts, Adult Education, Workforce Development, and Continuing Education

All programs require placement testing for Reading, Writing, and English skills; Students take a TABE or ACT/COMPASS test to assist with placement into the appropriate programs; CHA Residents offered a Career Bridge or Remediation Program to improve Reading, Writing, and English skills;
8 Role of CCC Partnership with CHA to train residents and relocated residents in entry level jobs on a career pathway Academic advisement to assist with matching residents employment interest with growth industries Provide quality programs through excellent faculty instruction Prepare residents for a global workforce
9 Training CCC provides training in the following clusters (sectors): Health Manufacturing Information Technology Community and Consumer Service Transportation Business, Marketing, and Management Art, Media and Communication
