4 UNCLASSIFIED / FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY European Union Satellite Centre 2014 SatCen Joint Action: Mission Statement The Satellite Centre shall, in coherence with the European Security Strategy, support the decision-making of the European Union in the field of the CFSP, in particular of the ESDP, including European Union crisis management operations, by providing, as appropriate, products resulting from the analysis of satellite imagery and collateral data, including aerial imagery, and related services. The only Operational Entity in Space and Security in support of the decisionmaking of the EU

Copernicus (previously GMES) Global Monitoring for Environment and Security Programme for the establishment of a EO European capacity EU-led initiative coordinated and managed by EC SatCen missions in line with the Security dimension of COPERNICUS SatCen mainly involved in Security services providing support to the EU External Actions, Border Control and Maritime Surveillance
