Service Description This service is complementary to all our other testing and consultancy services, which can be purchased individually or together as a package according to your needs. Introduction This service is one of many accessibility services that are applicable throughout the development lifecycle of a cloud-based services project such as a website, web-based application or mobile application. Appendix 1 (Accessibility throughout the project lifecycle) contains brief details of all the other services, which are available separately from Test Partners on G-Cloud. Expert review with assistive technologies The cloud-based service (typically a website and attached documents such as PDFs) is assessed by an accessibility consultant who is proficient in the use of assistive technologies and has extensive experience of user testing with participants with disabilities. They use this experience to identify real world issues that the technical testing does not identify. These are often cognitive issues where the content may not be understandable even though it is technically accessible. The consultant methodically assesses all the content on each page and typically identifies 50% or more of the issues that would be found by user testing. Although user testing finds more issues it does not cover all the content on each page, so the two types of testing are complementary. 2 Page 2 of 6 Ideally the testing will include the latest version of these and at least one previous version. Multiple browser versions may also be tested because the behavior of some assistive technologies varies depending on the browser it is used with. Page 2 of 6

Other Criteria Details of the level of backup/restore and disaster recovery that will be provided On-boarding and Off-boarding processes/scope etc. Service management details In all instances an account manager will be assigned throughout the life of your project. Additional technical staff will be involved in the scoping and costing of projects where necessary, reporting to the account manager. For work undertaken in our testlab, the day-to-day scheduling and management of projects will be undertaken by the Testing Delivery Manager. Service constraints (e.g. maintenance windows, level of customisation permitted, schedule for deprecation of functionality/features etc.) Service Levels (e.g. performance, availability, support hours, severity definitions etc.) Financial recompense model for not meeting service levels Training Ordering and invoicing process Ordering 1. Please contact steve.green@testpartners.co.uk or your Test Partners account manager when you wish to place an order. 2. Test Partners will prepare a written proposal containing the scope of work and pricing. 3. Return the signed proposal and raise a purchase order. If you do not use purchase orders we will accept acceptance from a suitably authorised person. Page 3 of 6

4 Page 4 of 6 4. Your accounts department should contact accounts@testpartners.co.uk if they require any information for their vendor approval process. 5. Our accounts department will contact you to obtain the information we need for invoicing and credit control purposes. Invoicing 1. For projects with a duration of less than 4 weeks we will submit invoices when the work is complete. 2. For projects with a duration of more than 4 weeks, interim invoices will be submitted at the end of each calendar month or test phase for the work conducted to date. The final invoice will be submitted when all work is complete. 3. V.A.T will be charged at prevailing rates. 4. Payment terms are 30 days net. 5. Invoices will be submitted in accordance with the procedure specified by your accounts department. Termination terms These are specified in our Terms & Conditions document. The termination period is usually 1 week except in the case of a breach of contract. Data restoration / service migration Customer responsibilities These depend on the project but usually include: Purchase order number (please advise if you do not use them). A faxed or ed copy of the last page of the proposal, signed by an authorised signatory. Confirmation of the URL and login details for the front-end and admin websites. URL and login details for the online bug tracker. List of full names and addresses for members of your team who will need accounts on our Jira online bug tracker. Page 4 of 6

5 Page 5 of 6 Credit card details for making purchases. Final versions of the functional specification and other design documentation. Technical requirements (service dependencies and detailed technical interfaces, e.g. client side requirements, bandwidth/latency requirements etc.) We do not impose any technical requirements. However, your infrastructure may require that you whitelist our IP addresses or provide us with some form of VPN access when the testing is conducted from our testlab. 6 Page 6 of 6 3. Appendix 1 - Accessibility throughout the project lifecycle There are several touchpoints at which the accessibility should be assessed throughout a development project. This ensures that any accessibility issues are identified early, when it is easiest and cheapest to fix them. The touchpoints are typically: Concept review. Typically a conference call with the client and the developer to discuss the accessibility implications of the content and technologies that will be used. This may be followed up with an providing guidance and good practices. Wireframe review. All the wireframes are assessed for the following: o o o Non-compliances with the checkpoints specified in the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Omissions that will result in non-compliances if they are not implemented. Features that may result in non-compliances if they are not implemented appropriately. Guidance is provided for the designers and developers to prevent the introduction of non-compliances during the construction of the page templates. Creative design review. This is similar to the wireframe review but occurs when the comprehensives or creative designs have been developed. Template testing. The page templates are tested for compliance with the checkpoints specified in the WCAG. We usually test for compliance with the Level AA checkpoints. Expert review. The website is assessed by an accessibility consultant using assistive technologies. This can be done at the template and / or final testing stage. Final testing. The original templates are re-tested, and additional pages are tested as required. The extra pages need to be tested because unique content (such as forms, Flash movies, multimedia etc) is often added during the build-out. User testing. Scenario-based tests are conducted with disabled participants and their assistive technologies. Automated testing. Automated tools allow a subset of the WCAG checkpoints to be tested on every page when the website is too large to test manually. In practice it is common for some of these stages to be omitted, depending on the budget, timescale, development process and other factors. Page 6 of 6
