5 National Student Survey Results The National Student Survey (NSS) is an annual assessment of how university final year students rate their studies. Strathclyde Business School as a whole has scored above the sector averages in ALL of the NSS categories. Our average score across our key business subject areas in terms of students overall satisfaction, (elements such as teaching, assessment and support throughout studies) was 94.4%

7 Innovation SBS is recognised for its innovation in business and management education. We have pioneered developments in undergraduate teaching, the MBA and the Doctorate of Business Administration. We pioneered the study of Marketing, and initiated cross-disciplinary studies in Technology and Business Studies and International Business and Modern Languages. We introduced new methods of study for the MBA in the UK the first full time one year programme in 1966, the first part time MBA in 1976 and first distance learning MBA in SBS became Europe s first university faculty to be awarded a licence to operate an MBA in the UAE.

8 Internationalisation We took the Strathclyde MBA into many new countries over 20 years ago, and now have 9 centres, in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. In 2011, Strathclyde SKIL Business School was launched in Greater Noida, New Delhi a partnership with SKIL Infrastructure Limited, one of India s most successful infrastructure leader. The first course Masters in Management - was launched as of the academic year. In January 2012, the first intake of the Executive Masters in Hospitality and Tourism Leadership an industry led programme, partnering with Cornell University, New York and Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne, Switzerland. By the end of 2011, SBS had 85 international partnerships with other universities and business schools, resulting in some 330 exchanges Our postgraduate community in Glasgow comprises over 80% international students with over 40 different nationalities.

9 Engaging with Industry Centre for Corporate Connections formalised our ongoing industry engagement in 2011 Ongoing partnership with Babcock Academy, delivering management education to managers across the Babcock International Group Launch of MBA25 a bespoke MBA in partnership with Wm Grant & Sons Executive education clients include Senergy, Standard Life and Alliance Trust Deloitte, Procter and Gamble, Ernst & Young sponsor our Management Development programme at undergraduate level International advisory boards - Iain McMillian, Director, CBI Scotland chairs UK-based advisory board Careers, corporate liaison, projects and internships ongoing engagement with existing and prospective recruiters Working in partnership with Comillas,an MBA in Global Energy will be delivered to the senior managers of Ibedrola and ScottishPower Management and will welcome its first intake in 2013.

10 New developments postgraduate Launch of MSc Global Energy Management in Sep specifically designed to train the next generation of energy specialists and combines academic rigour with exposure to industry and other experts, plus provides hands-on training in the management of energy-related issues and problems. New for Sep Launch of new joint MSc in European Financial Management in partnership with SKEMA Business School, France. First semester of programme taught in UK and second semester in France.
