3 1. How to Logon to Your PC A. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete at the same time. B. Sign-in with your username and password (given to you by tech dept or by the front office of your campus) and press OK. Make sure the Log on to box says ADMIN by clicking the down-arrow and selecting ADMIN. Page: 3 of 19

4 2. How to Check Your from Your School PC (Note: You have server storage capacity of 1GB). A. Startup Option-1 If you have an icon for Microsoft Office Outlook on your desktop (shown below), simply double-click it. B. Startup Option-2 If you do not have a desktop icon you will need to Click Start and Click (Microsoft Office Outlook). Page: 4 of 19

5 C. View Your - To view your , click your Inbox folder. The Inbox folder that you click will be determined as follows: a. Your On The Server Click the Inbox within Mailbox - <your name> to see all of your that exists on the server (i.e.: non-archived). b. Your On Your Local PC Click the Inbox within Personal Folders or "Archived Folders" to see all of your that you have archived (archiving is the process of moving your from the server to your school PC, perhaps because the on the server got too large and you were nearing your quota for the server). 6 3. How to Check Your from Home A. Start Internet Explorer, go to the LISD home page (i.e.: and click "LISD " under Site Shortcuts. B. Type your Windows username and password. (Make sure you either put admin\ in front of your username or after your username.) Example 1 admin\username Page: 6 of 19

8 4. How to access Skyward Online A. Start Internet Explorer, go to the LISD home page (i.e.: and click "Skyward under Site Shortcuts. B. Click on the appropriate Skyward module from the choices below: Page: 8 of 19

9 C. Enter your SKYWARD username and password (given to you by the Skyward Security Administrator for the Finance or Student systems...it is different from your Windows username and password) and click Login. Page: 9 of 19

10 5. How to Add, View, or Modify Your Technology Help Request Calls Via the Help Desk System NOTE: Before you can use the Help Desk system, you must have an LISD user ID and password! 1. Start Internet Explorer, go to the LISD home page (i.e.: and click "Technology HelpDesk" 2. Enter your Windows user ID and password at the following prompt: If you have used the Help Desk system before you may skip to step-6. Otherwise, continue with next step. Page: 10 of 19

11 3. The very FIRST TIME you login, you will see the 'create ID' screen similar to the following: 4. Click on 'Create'. You should see a screen similar to: Make sure and enter ALL of the following info: o o o o First Name - Your first name. Last Name - Your last name. Address - Your LISD address (eg: jwcox@libertyisd.net). Do not enter an outside account such as Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. Website - Physical location (either LHS, LMS, LES, SJE, ADM, or COO). 12 5. You will see one of four screens, depending on your Help Desk history:: a. "Add Call" screen - You have no open calls to display. To add a call go to step 6 "ADDING / MODIFYING A CALL". You may also click an option at the bottom of the screen (List All, Log Off, etc.). b. "Customer Default" screen -You have no open calls to display: To add a call click "Add New Call" and go to step 6 "ADDING / MODIFYING A CALL". You may also click an option at the bottom of the screen (List All, Log Off, etc.). Page: 12 of 19

13 c. "Multiple Calls" screen -You have multiple calls which display in a list similar to: Note: You can click on a 'subject' to view call details or click 'Modify' to update a call. To add a call click "Add New Call" and go to step 6 "ADDING / MODIFYING A CALL". You may also click an option at the bottom of the screen (List All, Log Off, etc.). d. "Only One Call" screen -You only have one call outstanding and it displays similar to: You may click the 'Modify' button and go to step 6 "ADDING / MODIFYING A CALL. To add a call click "Add New Call" and go to step 6 "ADDING / MODIFYING A CALL". You may also click an option at the bottom of the screen (List All, Log Off, etc.). Page: 13 of 19

14 6. ADDING / MODIFYING A CALL Once you have displayed one of the above four screens in step 7 and clicked on the appropriate 'add' or 'modify' button you can add or update a call. The screen will look similar to: Three items should be ALREADY FILLED in for you: a) Name b) Address - Your LISD address (e.g.: jwcox@libertyisd.net). c) Website (i.e.: either LHS, LMS, LES, SJE, ADM, or COO). Please ADD the following information for each call: a) Category Pick the problem type from the drop-down list. b) Subject Enter a short description and include your Room Number. (e.g.: Cannot access internet in 101 ). c) Description - Enter a complete description of the problem. You must click Submit to save the call. The call is saved and the Technology Department is notified of the new (or modified) call. 7. When you are ready to exit the Help Desk system click "Log Off" at the bottom of the window, or just click top-right X to close the browser window. Page: 14 of 19

15 Help Desk Options (from the menu at bottom of each page) 1. FAQ - Search the Help Desk history for problem resolution. You may enter a keyword and 'Search', choose from one of the predefined categories, or click 'List All' to show all FAQ's. To exit FAQ and return to the Help Desk operations, click 'Help Desk' at the bottom of the screen. 2. Add New Call - Add a new help desk call as outlined above. 3. List All - Display all of your OPEN calls in the Help Desk system. You can click a call s 'subject' to view call details or click 'Modify' to update a call. 4. Modify Contact Info - Allows you to change your Name, Address, or Location. 5. List Closed - Display all of your CLOSED (ie: completed) calls. 6. Log Off - Log yourself out of the Help Desk system. 16 6. How to Add a Network Printer to your PC. A. Click Start, All Programs, Printer and Faxes B. Click Add a printer top left Page: 16 of 19

17 C. Click Next D. Select A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer and click Next Page: 17 of 19

18 E. Select Connect to this printer (or to browse for a printer, select this option and click Next) and enter your server in the following format \\xxxx\ where xxxx is based on campus as follows: San Jacinto Elementary School = \\SJE-SERVER\ Liberty Elementary School = \\LES-SERVER\ Liberty Middle School = \\LMS-SERVER\ Liberty High School = \\LHS-SERVER\ Administration = \\DNS\ When you enter the last \ you will see a list of printers that are available to you. Select one and click Next F. Select either Yes or No on Do you want to use this printer as the default printer? and click Next Page: 18 of 19
