This includes workers' compensation, employment and general litigation matters. -Advise clients on legal issues with a special emphasis on workers' compensation, corporate and employment matters. -Provide counsel to various school districts and schools with regard to education law issues and represent Districts and Boards in various proceedings. -Research and write pleadings, motions and memoranda in various fields including contracts, corporate law, employment law and workers' compensation. -Prepare and analyze legal documents including employment contracts and other corporate documents. -Provide risk assessments to clients for proactive approaches to issues. -Train managers, supervisors and others in best practices for workers compensation and employment matters. -Serve as a mediator in cases pending before the Vermont Department of Labor, Vermont Superior Court and the Vermont Supreme Court. -Act as an arbitrator in cases pending before the Vermont Department of Labor. -Conference Coordinator for the Annual Vermont Department of Labor s Workers Compensation Adjuster s Continuing Education Conference, educating over 300 workers compensation claims handlers, attorneys and others each year from 2006 to present. -Testify before legislative committees at their request on issues of workers compensation, economic development, transportation and municipal bond issues.
