2 Just ten years ago, I traveled to Europe and the US in search of new business opportunities and I was intrigued by the growing renewable energy markets and especially solar power. It is a strange co-incidence that my Chinese name refers to light and energy and so maybe it was fate but PV captured my imagination so completely that I decided to create LDK Solar. In 2005 LDK Solar began with $30 million of my personal money and $80 million of venture capital this allowed LDK to build the first factories in Xinyu, China. That was just the beginning; since then LDK Solar has experienced tremendous growth developing into one of the major players in the PV industry, of which I m really proud. The key to LDK s rise from the small beginning to where we are today was the strategic decision to integrate LDK into the whole value chain of solar PV products. This meant huge expansion from our base of ingot and wafer production into silicon feedstock, cells and module manufacturing. 5 LDK Solar Silicon LDK Solar produces hyper pure polysilicon raw material required for the in-house manufacturing of silicon wafers and cells. The 22,000 MT polysilicon production facility in Xinyu, China, is one of the most modern and environmentally friendly of its kind, producing almost zero waste and byproducts.

6 Who we are About LDK Solar Established in 2005 in China, LDK Solar is today one of the world s largest producers of solar wafers in terms of capacity and a leading high-purity polysilicon and solar module manufacturer. As a vertically integrated manufacturer and marketer of Photovoltaic (PV) products, LDK Solar employs more than 24,000 people worldwide. The Company's headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located in Xinyu City in the People's Republic of China. LDK Solar's office in the United States is located in Sunnyvale, California. In Europe LDK Solar is represented with its Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, and has offices in Germany, Italy, Spain, France and the UK managing Sales, Marketing and Customer Service.

7 LDK Solar IngotS LDK Solar uses its high-purity polysilicon as well as purchased and recycled polysilicon to manufacture ingots. The company produced the world's first 800kg multicrystalline ingot. This innovation of large mono and multicrystalline ingots enables LDK Solar to reduce costs by achieving economies of scale.

8 Our Manufacturing Large-scale cost-effective production Leveraging scale and market position, the company is able to continuously improve its cost structure by procuring raw materials and advanced production equipment on favorable terms. The cost structure is further optimized by LDK Solar s vertically integrated business model, efficient production process, Chinabased manufacturing facilities and R&D. High-level of vertical integration Our vertically integrated model helps to ensure we understand the complexities and interfaces between all parts of the PV production process. This delivers more consistent quality and allows us to continuously improve efficiency and drive down cost. We also have the flexibility to buy and sell solar products along the value chain. Environmental Protection We have installed anti-pollution equipment in our facilities to reduce, treat and, where feasible, recycle the waste generated in our manufacturing process. We have built special facilities to filter and treat waste water from our production process and we then recycle it back. Our operations are subject to regulation and periodic inspection by local environmental protection authorities. In addition, LDK Solar is a proactive advocate and supporter of numerous internal and external environmental policy and awareness issues.

9 LDK Solar Wafers LDK Solar is one of the world's largest manufacturers of solar wafers. The company produces multi and monocrystalline wafers for its in-house cell manufacturing. LDK Solar sells wafers on the open market and also provides wafer processing services.

10 Our Warranty and Service LDK Solar Value Series For the Value Series LDK Solar offers a power warranty which follows a 4-Step approach with a guaranteed power output. This applies to the majority of the range of modules in each product type. LDK Solar Professional Series For the Professional Series, LDK Solar offers a Linear Power Warranty which guarantees module power output of min. 80.2% for multi and monocrystalline modules at 25 years. The power output decrease is limited to 0.7% per year. This applies for the higher power class modules of the valid product portfolio. LDK Solar Secure For commercial customers in Europe, LDK Solar offers a Warranty Insurance Package covered by HDI Gerling, an A+ rated German insurance company. The package serves as a fully insured backup for LDK Solar Product and Power Warranties on PV modules; even in the event of manufacturer bankruptcy HDI Gerling provides full warranty insurance guaranteeing the investor s PV module performance for up to 20 years. Moreover, the insurer compensates labor and transportation costs as well as production loss in case of a warranty claim. As an independent third party HDI Gerling has completed a positive audit on LDK Solar's product quality and manufacturing process which reinforces the bankability of our products. * 100% Financing support PERFORMANCE 95% 90% 85% Thanks to a strategic agreement with China Development Bank (CDB), LDK Solar receives credit support for its own PV project financing demand. 11 LDK Solar cells LDK Solar produces multi and monocrystalline cells for its in-house modules and for marketing to other module manufacturers in its facilities in Xinyu and Hefei, China. The ability to produce cells in-house allows us to focus on increased cell efficiency and quality. This, plus a stable source of cell supply, enables us to consistently drive down module cost.

12 What we offer High Quality Products LDK Solar offers an extensive range of multi and monocrystalline PV modules for a wide variety of applications. LDK Solar provides modules for the on-grid residential, commercial and utilityscale markets. For off-grid applications, LDK Solar offers specialized multi and monocrystalline modules suitable for connecting to 12 Volt batteries for applications such as remote lighting, water pumping, telecommunications and village power. Residential Commercial Stringent Quality Standards LDK Solar has a team of 600 dedicated quality control specialists who conduct stringent tests at every step of the production process from silicon, ingots, wafers and cells to module production. This ensures that our products meet or exceed performance requirements. LDK Solar's global procurement department places the same strict demands on its suppliers as the company does on its own processes. We have received many international quality, safety and performance certifications which demonstrate LDK Solar's technological capabilities and delivers customer confidence. Utility Scale Off-Grid Environmentally-friendly attitude LDK Solar gained the full membership of the PV CYCLE Association through the PV CYCLE Full Member Certificate in July 2011, offering its customers a free-of-charge disposal of End-Of-Life PV modules, reducing pollution in the environment.

14 Continuing the Journey Lead PV to Grid Parity LDK Solar continues to drive towards lowest kwh production costs in our quest to deliver an affordable alternative to traditional carbon based energy. In order to better understand the intricacies of PV systems LDK Solar has acquired PV systems design and installation companies in the US and in Europe. We have also acquired a majority share in the German inverter and module manufacturer Sunways AG. The acquisitions allow us to investigate and research the complete value chain of the Photovoltaic industry, giving LDK Solar a unique insight into the complexity of producing green energy. Drive Innovation LDK Solar has established a national Research Center for Photovoltaic Technology in China. It has a team of 300 dedicated solar scientists and engineers working at the in-house R&D centers.
