1 June Meeting Minutes Meeting called to order at 6:03pm Meeting adjourned at 7:15pm 86 Members were in attendance (This was the largest attendance at any meeting since e were formed in 2010). Minutes from May Meeting were approved without a reading. MEMBER LIST At the beginning of this meeting we have 289 dues paying members for If you are already on the list, you received up to several ings from Tim Clemens. If you are not receiving Tim s s, see him after the meeting to correct/verify your information. YOUR INFORMATION IS GOING TO BE USED FOR WEBPAGE CONTACTS. PLEASE MAKE SURE IT IS CORRECT. WEB PAGE UPDATE The webpage is and has been up and running. Not everyone has registered his or her information on the page. Please do so. We now have more Members registered on our webpage than ever before. Potential clients can now go to westshorebarassoication.org and vet our list for possible representation. LISTSERV is now up and running. If you have paid your 2012 Dues, you should have access to LISTSERV. If you have paid your dues and do not have access to LISTSERV, please notify Tim Clemens. To maintain your presence on the web-page and access to LISTSERV, simply pay your dues. CLE's The CLE Committee of Joe Burke, Tim Clemens, Veronica Dever, Tania Nemer, Kim Riley and Drue Skaryd is planning for We will have four separate WSBA/Rocky River Court sponsored CLE's in We will be offering a total of 12 CLE hours, which also includes
2 the requirements for Substance Abuse, Professionalism and Ethics. Dates and times will be forthcoming as we move forward. A Traffic Law Update and Sealing of Conviction presented by Judges Hagan and Weiler is set for Friday August 3, This will be a 3.5 hour CLE. We are also planning a CLE on Probate in September and another on Social Media in October. As a tie in a component of Social Media will be included in our Ethics/Professionalism presentation in December. We are doing our best to keep our CLE's interesting, relevant and up to date. Please let us know if you have any other suggestions for future CLE's. Please approach our CLE Committee Members with any ideas you may have. All of our CLE s have been held at Umerly Hall, which is across the parking lot from the Rocky River Court. Members are charged $50 and non-members are charged $75 for each CLE. Announcements will be posted on our web page, on the Rocky River Court s web page, postcards will be sent out and notices will be sent electronically. COPY MACHINE We now have a copy machine in the Public Records Room at The Rocky River Court. We have noticed that the machine is getting some use and that is a good thing. WSBA has paid for the purchase of the machine and will also cover the cost for the paper, ink and maintenance. The machine makes only one copy at a time. There is no sheet feeder. It is a basic machine used for making copies of Court Documents received while attending any Court matter wherein you want a copy of something from the Court and/or Clerk s office. There is an instruction sheet taped to the top of the machine. SOCIAL COMMITTEE Our Social Committee has grown very active as late. We have a good group of people trying to keep us social! A WSBA Golf League began on Tuesday May 22 nd. The turn out has
3 been light but expected to grow as word gets passed about. WSBA Golf League is on Tuesdays beginning at 5:30pm. We are golfing at Springvale Golf Course at 5871 Canterbury Road in North Olmsted. This Thursday, June 7 th there is a WSBA get together at the CYC in Rocky River from 6pm to 8pm. Thanks to Members Jay Milano and Lynn Lazzaro for making this event possible. The cost is $25/person. The $25 includes light fare food, one beverage and unlimited socializing. If you want to attend, you need to pay in advance. Please issue a check made payable to WSBA and get it to our Meeting Manager Chris Ita. We are collecting for the event through this evening s Monthly Meeting. The proposed WSBA Social Committee Agenda for the remainder of 2012 is: In August, the Social Committee is planning a happy hour get together on Whiskey Island. Once again, we will be joining with SWBA for their 11 th Annual Golf Outing at The Grey Hawk beginning at 9:30am. The cost is $95/person. It is a 4 person scramble. MIKE O SHEA Mike O Shea is chairing a new committee called The Small Business Practice Group. The committee is growing. If you would like to join as a committee person, please contact Mr. O Shea. PALACE BUSINESS CENTRES Thanks to the Small Business Practice Group, Diana Shulsky joined us from Palace Business Centres. She made a presentation to the Membership. They are interested in partnering with some of us to provide virtual office space. They have low monthly lease rates and can provide short-term leases. They provide access to conference rooms, meeting rooms, a full kitchen, staffed reception, ample parking and offices. For a limited time, for WSBA Members, they have a special running. If you sign a 12-month lease on a private serviced office you get two months for free. That means you get 14 months for the price of 12 months. If you sign a 12-month lease for a virtual office, you get one month free. That means you get a virtual office for 13 months for the price of 12 months. They can assist by providing a place for you to meet clients, especially if you work from home. They are also looking into

6 We Heard from Judicial Candidates Tim McCormack, Member Denise Rini, and Judge Kenneth Spanagel. Opponents have the same option to address our Members at one of our regularly scheduled Monthly Meetings. We do not endorse any candidates. New members were introduced along with our newest Lawyer in our group, John Stryker. He was sworn in by Judge Hagan last month. See you at all of our social events over the next couple of months and back at the Beach Cliff for our Monthly meetings beginning on September 4, 2012.
