2 1. Select the P6 Web shortcut on the desktop. 1. Double-click to launch the login page. 2. Enter Username and Password. 3. Check the Database PMDB and Language English. Page 1

4 Basic Navigation Exercise: 1. Choose the Laney Portfolio. 2. Click OK to select. Laney Projects Portfolio will be displayed. Page 3

5 3. Choose the Peralta Active Projects Portfolio. Click OK to select. Peralta Active Projects will be displayed. 4. Expand the My Projects Portlet. Page 4

6 5. Maximize the My Projects Portlet. Minimize the My Projects Portlet. 6. Click Collapse All. 7. Click Expand All. Page 5

7 PORTLET: Project Statistics This portlet provides information about each project in the selected portfolio. The layout lists the same information found in the PROJECTS- DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION STATUS REPORT. Information Provided: Project Name Project Number BL Total Cost (Original Project Budget) Architect or Engineer Funding Source Current Estimated Status Project/Construction Manager Construction Cost Start Finish % Complete (Duration) Project Statistics Exercise: 1. What is the original project budget for the Alameda Building A Admin Modernization? 2. Who is the Architect or Engineer for Merritt: Building D Science Building Modernization? 3. What is the Project Number for Laney: Beginner s Inn Culinary Kitchen? Page 6

8 PORTLET: Cost Worksheet The Cost Worksheet provides Project Budget information for projects in the current portfolio. Only projects with approved budgets will be listed. Column Definitions: Project Title Original Budget Current Budget Original Commitment Original plus Approved Changes Available Pending Commitment Project Commitment Projected Variance Project ID (First 2 initials will designate the college campus) This is the cost code title which will populate when a single project is selected Original, Approved Project Budget (includes all costs) Original Budget + Approved Budget Changes Approved Contracts ( Committed dollars) Original Commitment + Approved Changes Variance between the Current Budget and the Original plus Approved Changes- how many dollars are not committed. Pending Change Orders to the Committed Contracts. Original plus Approved Changes + Pending Commitment Variance between the Projected Budget and the Projected Commitment- how many dollars projected to be available at end of the project. Page 7

9 Click on LNBEGIN to open the Cost Worksheet (Budget breakdown) for Laney: Beginner s Inn Culinary Kitchen. Cost Worksheet Exercise: 1. What is the original budget for Construction Contingency? 2. What is the revised dollar amount for Construction Contingency (Original plus Approved Changes)? 3. What is the Original Commitment amount for Inspection? Page 8

10 PROJECT NOTEBOOKS Project Notebooks will allow the project manager and/or program management team to communicate topics of interest regarding the project. For example, Scope, District Issues, Pending Changes, or Progress Photographs can be copied to the Notebook Topic. This is a method of one-way communications from the project management team. Page 9

11 PROJECT-SPECIFIC INFORMATION My Projects lists all the projects you have access to with minimal information about each project. This is the launch point for project-specific information in the PROJECTS module of the P6 Web. Page 10
