1 Terms and Conditions of our Web Design Service 1. Client Responsibilities 1.0 The Client will be responsible for purchasing a domain name and all subsequent domain renewals. The client will purchase a domain name from an approved UK hosting company. This will be purchased with the assistance of Today Type and Design Ltd unless it has been purchased prior to the first meeting. Auto renewals will be organised by the client. Today Type and Design Ltd accept no responsibility for the loss of the clients domain name. 1.1 The Client will be responsible for purchasing a Linux Hosting Package The client will purchase a Linux hosting package from an approved UK hosting company, preferably the same host that holds their domain name. This can be done with the assistance of Today Type and Design Ltd. The client henceforth is responsible for all future payments and setting up autorenewals on this hosting package. If the hosting is not paid for in the future, Today Type and Design Ltd accept no responsibility for the loss of the clients website. The hosting must be Linux and not Windows hosting. Wordpress is not compatible with Windows hosting. 1.2 The Client will be responsible for the purchase of accounts If the client needs an account, they will be responsible for the purchase of an account through their chosen website host. Today Type and Design will aid with the setup of this service if the client requires assistance but will not be responsible for its purchase should you require a paid service. 1.3 The Client will allow Today Type and Design Ltd access to all hosting related accounts in order to create all databases and install all required files. Today Type and Design Ltd cannot build your website without having access to the domain and hosting account. The client agrees to let Today Type and Design Ltd have access to this information. Today Type and Design Ltd will not share your details with any third party. 1.4 The Client is fully responsible for gathering their own website content and delivering it to Today Type and Design Ltd. Today Type and Design Ltd are not responsible for writing web page content. The client should deliver their written and photographic content via an ed Word file (doc. or docx) or on a disc / USB. ed content can be sent to design@suffolkwebsites.com. To large format files, such as images, please use either DropBox or WeTransfer online. 1.5 The Client is fully responsible for purchasing a back up system with their host Today Type and Design Ltd will take an initial back up after the website has been completed. The client is responsible for purchasing a back up system with their host. Today Type and Design Ltd will agree to aid the client in the set up of this service if required. Today Type and Design Ltd will accept no responsibility if the clients website gets hacked and will charge the client 30+vat for every hour it takes to repair or rebuild the website.

Deposit and Further Payments 2.0 A deposit of 10% will be paid by the client on agreement of a package This should be paid by BACS or by card payment at the Signal House office in Framlingham and will be invoiced by Today Type and Design Ltd to the client upon agreement of the web design package. 2.1 A further 50% of the agreed price will be paid by the client once the web content has been delivered to Today Type and Design Ltd and before any design work takes place. This should be paid by BACS or by card payment at the Signal House office in Framlingham and will be invoiced by Today Type and Design Ltd to the client accordingly. 2.2 The remaining 40% of the agreed price will be paid once the website has been approved by the client and before the website goes live. This should be paid by BACS or by card payment at the Signal House office in Framlingham and will be invoiced by Today Type and Design Ltd to the client accordingly. 3. Wordpress Themes and Website Mock Ups 3.0 Unless the client has chosen the Standard web package, the client is entitled to a choice of wordpress themes. All wordpress themes are licensed to Today Type and Design Ltd and the client agrees not to download them for use them on any other website. If this is found to be the case, there may be legal ramifications from the theme creator for which Today Type and Design will accept no responsibility. 3.1 Today Type and Design Ltd agree to offer the client up to 3 homepage mock-ups after the 10% deposit has been paid. A mockup is presented to the client as a jpeg (still image) only, and not a fully functioning website. All mock ups are created in photoshop and are merely a representation of the possibilities the theme could offer and not a definitive example of the final product. 3.2 Today Type and Design Ltd agree to send the client links to the demonstration theme online so that they can understand how their visitors might experience their new site. A demonstration theme is a generic website built by the theme creator (external to our services) and will not contain any personalised or branded content. 3.3 Once the theme has been approved and purchased, the theme cannot be changed without incurring additional charges. The client will be charged the full price of the replacement theme.

3 4. Lead Time: Scheduling a time for the website build 4.0 Only once the client has paid the second installment of 50% of the overall fee will their website build slot be scheduled. This installment will be invoiced to the client and should be paid by BACS or by card payment at the Signal House office in Framlingham. 4.1 Lead times are dependant on the following factors from the clients end: Receipt of Content: Today Type and Design Ltd will only be able to start building the website once they have received all the required content. The client is fully responsible for content (see 1.4). Receipt of Design Fees: No work will commence until an installment of 50% of the overall package fee has been paid in full. This is due once the client has delivered their content to Today Type and Design. 4.2 Other factors effecting lead times for the client to be aware of: Today Type and Design Ltd only have one member of their team working on websites. Position in the queue: The amount of clients who are currently undergoing web projects at the time the client decides to go ahead with their package will affect lead time. If there are several, the client will join the queue and Today Type and Design Ltd will inform them when work will proceed. Please note: this could be up to 4 weeks, Today Type and Design Ltd will advise the client of the expected lead time after the content has been received. 5. Meeting deadlines 5.0 The client should state at the initial meeting(s) if they have a desired date for the website to go live The client is responsible for making the designer aware of a go live deadline. Today Type and Design Ltd will do everything within their power to meet reasonable deadlines, but the go live date can not be guaranteed. Today Type and Design Ltd will tell the client if the deadline is not a reasonable possibility and make them aware of the reasons.

4 6. During the website build 6.0 The clients website will be in maintenance mode whilst the website is being built. Today Type and Design Ltd will provide the client with their own personal login so that they can view the website privately with read-only capabilities. The client will be unable to edit the site themselves at this point. 6.1 Making adjustments to the website during the build If the client wishes to make changes to their website before it goes live, they will either book an appointment with the web designer to sit and work through the changes, or alternatively, provide a word document with a list of the desired changes which Today Type and Design will then perform. 6.2 Making adjustments: Theme constraints As Today Type and Design Ltd employ a theme based design service, sometimes the changes a client wishes to make to their website are not possible. The client agrees to understand that sometimes their desired outcome will not be possible to achieve. Today Type and Design Ltd will do their best to find a solution, but cannot guarantee it will be possible. 6.3 Once the website has been approved by the client the website will not leave maintenance mode until the client has paid the full web design fee. This final installment will be invoiced to the client once the client has approved the website and should be paid by BACS or by card payment at the Signal House office in Framlingham. 7. User Manual 7.0 Clients on the standard package will be given an off the peg user manual to make only basic text changes and basic image changes to their website. The Standard package will allow you to make basic text and image changes only. For further instruction the client can book a tutorial with Today Type and Design Ltd or request a further instruction manual. Both these options will be chargeable at 30 + vat per hour. 7.1 Clients on the Business and Pro packages will be given a custom made user manual to; add a new page, add text blocks, add simple images and add new posts/blogs. A PDF user manual will be ed to the client by Today Type and Design Ltd no later than two weeks after their web build has been completed and paid for. This does not include changing animated sliders on the homepage. For further instruction the client can book a tutorial with Today Type and Design Ltd or request a further instruction manual. Both these options will be chargeable at 30 + vat per hour.

5 8. Website SEO 8.0 Website SEO on Standard Package Today Type and Design Ltd will input basic SEO information on web pages only and submit the websites sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools. SEO includes entering titles, descriptions and keywords into each page of the website to help with search results. Today Type and Design Ltd will also register the site with Google Webmaster Tools and provide them with a sitemap. This information does not guarantee your place at the top of Google or any other major search engine. It is merely assisting search engines in finding your web pages. For more information about boosting the websites position in search engine rankings, the client can discuss Google Adwords with a member of the Today Type and Design Ltd web design team. 8.1 Website SEO on Business Package Today Type and Design will input basic SEO information on web pages and posts and submit the websites sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools. For more information about boosting the websites position in search engine rankings, the client can discuss Google Adwords with a member of the Today Type and Design Ltd team. 8.2 Website SEO on Pro Package Today Type and Design will input basic SEO information on web pages and custom post types and submit the websites sitemap Google Webmaster Tools. SEO includes entering titles, descriptions and keywords into each page and custom post type of the website to help with search results. Custom post types refers to portfolio items or events and are dependent on the content of the website. Today Type and Design Ltd will also register the site with Google Webmaster Tools and provide them with a sitemap. This information does not guarantee your place at the top of Google or any other major search engine. It is merely assisting search engines in finding your web pages. For more information about boosting the websites position in search engine rankings, the client can discuss Google Adwords with a member of the Today Type and Design Ltd team.

6 9. Additional Third Party Plugins Sometimes clients want their website to do more than just the basic wordpress theme settings allows. If this is the case Today Type and Design Ltd might need to use a third party plugin to make the website function in a certain way i.e. paid memberships, online booking services for courses. In most cases, Today Type and Design Ltd choose themes that already encompass these functions (only with business and pro packages), but now and again, a client may decide they want an extra function that the basic theme is unable to provide. 9.0 Plugin Purchase Today Type and Design will find the plugin the client needs and present them with the options. Only after the client has given their consent will the plugin be purchased. The price of the plugin will be added on to the clients overall bill. 9.1 Plugin Failures Wordpress is constantly updating, improving elements that are unstable or have a history of breaking. Sometimes, the plugins become incompatible with the latest version of wordpress. In this case, Today Type and Design Ltd will troubleshoot the problem. Today Type and Design Ltd agree to spend time sourcing an alternative plugin if it is required. The cost of the new plugin to fix the site will be charged to the client. 10. Testing functionality of the website This applies to websites that use a payment system such as a shop, sites with paid membership, or alternatively a mailing list sign up or event booking with automated s Testing your payment system Today Type and Design Ltd agree to run a test payment through a PayPal sandbox account. This is a simple testing method to make sure that people are able to make a successful payment and receive all subsequent s. We will make sure the site accepts payments and that your customers are redirected back from Paypal to the right pages after a successful transaction Testing your mailing list We agree to test the mailing list sign up to ensure the s are appearing in the correct account of whatever system you are using. The system of choice must be compatible with Wordpress and Wordpress themes. We recommend Mailchimp which is user friendly and offers well supported wordpress plugins.

Mailing Lists 11.0 To allow for online sign up to the mailing list, the client is responsible for setting up an account with a recommended mailing system In order to allow mailing list sign ups through a website, the client will need to create an account with a recommended system (i.e. mailchimp). The client will allow Today Type and Design Ltd access to their account for the essential API keys Mailout Templates The creation of mailchimp templates is not included in any of the web design packages. Today Type and Design Ltd can create you a custom template. This is a charged service at 30 + vat per hour Mailing List Privacy Policy Today Type and Design Ltd agree not to share any of the clients personal details, or those of their subscribers with any third parties. 12. Security 12.0 The installation of security plugins Today Type and Design Ltd will install a security plugin to the website. This is to protect it against hackers, but it does not guarantee that the website is hack-proof. A back up system purchased by the client is highly recommended. See condition The client agrees to use complex passwords Today Type and Design Ltd will set up complex passwords to make sure that they are not easily hacked. Once the client has their own account, it is their responsibility to ensure that their password is complex i.e. a mixture of lower case letters, uppercase letters, symbols and numbers. 13. Logos 13.1 Logo design is not included in any web design package. The client must provide Today Type and Design Ltd with their logo in high resolution as a JPEG, EPS or PNG. If the client does not have a logo, Today Type and Design offer a logo design service at 149+vat.

Refunds and cancellations 14.0 Deposit refunds The clients initial website deposit of 10% is non-refundable Cancellations of hosting and domains The client is responsible for the cancellation of hosting packages and domain names. If the hosting and domain cease to be paid for by the client, Today Type and Design Ltd accept no responsibility for the loss of the website Cancellations of the web design packages Cancellations before the build If no work has been started but the 10% deposit has been paid, the 10% is non refundable. Cancellations during and after the build If a website has been built, with 60% of the overall design fee paid by the client, the 60% fee will then be non refundable. The website will not be put live and the final 40% will not be paid by the client. 15.
