5 2. Getting started At the moment there are some Maxedia systems that will need a dongle update. This is done by an unlock code. You will receive this unlock code, after you generate a lock code on your Maxedia system, that will be sent to Martin. A special tool on your Maxedia can create the lock code. 2.1 Run the tool Startup your Maxedia system and plug in your USB memory-stick in one of the front USB ports. If Maxedia loaded completely, hit the Windows key on your keyboard. Hit the Windows key, and this screen is shown Now you will see on your GUI monitor the screen as shown above. Please navigate to My Computer and select it. Windows Explorer will now be started. Navigate to the home location of Maxedia C:\Program Files\Martin\Maxedia 2 and run the file BroadCastUpgrade.exe Maxedia dongle upgrade procedure, rev. B Page 2-4

1 Run the tool Startup your Maxedia system and plug in your USB memory-stick in one of the front USB ports. If Maxedia loaded completely, hit the Windows key on your keyboard.

6 Run this file Note: Contents of Windows Explorer may look different on your Maxedia system. 3. Lock code Generate a lock code using the serial number of your Maxedia system. 3.1 Serial number Your serial number can be found on a sticker in the Maxedia rack. It is located on the inside of the left door of the PC. The serial number has the following format: (21)xxxxxxxxxx Maxedia dongle upgrade procedure, rev. B Page 3-5

7 Location of the serial number 3.2 Generate lock code Fill in the serial number in the tool (1) and click on Get Locking Code (2) Maxedia dongle upgrade procedure, rev. B Page 3-6

8 3.3 Save lock code Now save the lock code by clicking on Save Serial/Locking Code As Please select your USB memory-stick and save your file as Broadcast.txt. When this operation was successful, the following popup will appear. You can now exit the tool and safely remove your USB memory stick. 4. Unlock code Please request an unlock code by , and add the Broadcast.txt file as attachment. You can send your to An unlock code (Update License) will be replied back to you. 4.1 Update the dongle To update the dongle, please write down the unlock code that you received in an from Martin, and startup your Maxedia system. Please run the tool again as described in section 2.1 Maxedia dongle upgrade procedure, rev. B Page 4-7

Unlock code Please request an unlock code by email, and add the Broadcast.txt file as attachment. You can send your email to broadcastupgrade@rdinternational.

9 Now enter the unlock key from the into the License Code field of the tool. Click on the Update License button. Your Maxedia dongle is now upgraded to a Broadcast version.
