Thorarinn Aevarsson, CEO IKEA Iceland Datacentre Operator What the Client Needed; to ensure operational reliability to gather accurate usage readings for individual cabinets option to pass data to in-house BMS system SEMS was implemented as part of the provision of a new suite of 72-Way Power Distribution Units across multiple UK Sites. Whilst the system has been implemented to utilise our etactica platform the client also wanted the ability to transfer data to their BMS system if required. Modbus compatibility is built into SEMS and has allowed for such integration to be made as and when the client chooses. The client is now looking at a wider roll out for both new PDU s and also for retrofitting to their existing stock. 6

7 Mixed Use Offices, Lighting Scheme What the Client Needed; to justify capital expenditure on energy saving schemes ongoing monitoring to help improve staff engagement with energy saving initiatives to reduce costs The etactica system was deployed in the existing building stock of the client. A trial scheme to roll out LED lighting in the office spaces was undertaken as part of refurbishment works in part of the building. Using data from etactica the we were able to calculate for the client that their new lighting was running at less than 20% of the cost of their original fixtures. In addition we calculated that the overall lifecycle cost over 10 years would be in excess of 65% lower. What the client said; We were surprised just how big a saving the new equipment would make and we only know this thanks to the data collected by SEMS. We have already identified other energy saving initiatives we intend to implement off the back of the data being collected.
