NCEES OUTREACH
NCEES Outreach As part of recent Annual Meeting in Seattle, NCEES partnered with the Pacific Science Center for Engineer It!, connecting professional engineers and surveyors with the public for hands-on exploration of science. Over 6,000 parents and children attended. Presented the NCEES Engineer Award for connecting professional practice and education to the Seattle University Electrical and Computer Engineering Department for their submission, Microgrid System for a Wind and Solar Farm in rural Kenya. Award was established in 2009 to promote understanding of the value of licensure and encourage partnerships between the engineering profession and education.
NCEES Outreach NCEES is growing their relationship with Engineers without Borders (EWB). We currently support 4 project grants and will be working with them in the near future to expand our sponsorship role in order to reach engineering students to encourage them to pursue licensure. EWB is a humanitarian organization established to support community-driven development programs worldwide through partnerships that design and implement sustainable engineering projects. We are involved with judging Future City Competitions (national and regional). We will be a sponsor of a special geocaching event to celebrate Surveyors Week in 2015.
NCEES Outreach We are a sponsor of a special geocaching event to celebrate Surveyors Week in We provide some funding for TwiST (Teaching with Spatial Technology), a program to teach K-12 teachers how to teach with Geographic Information Technology in the classroom. We are a financial sponsor of the Trig-Star program, an annual high school mathematics competition (trigonometry) organized by NSPS.

Consider if revisions are needed to the definition of surveying to encompass new technology and methodology to broaden the potential base for licensed surveyors.
NCEES Future of Surveying Task Force Charge 2 Evaluate if state specific surveying exams can be transitioned into region specific exams or if state specific surveying exams can be eliminated.
