Visual Guidelines Introduction No other company in the world connects and protects the flow of power and data in more products than TE Connectivity. As our company has evolved over more than 50 years, so has our business strategy and focus. We are changing our name to TE Connectivity to better reflect who we are and what we do. In a world that is now increasingly connected, we provide connectivity solutions across almost every industry around the globe. Our new brand will become one of our most valuable assets. It must be communicated and applied consistently and accurately to maintain its strength and integrity. This overview document provides the resources to accurately portray the brand and communicate the attributes and qualities of our company. Joan Wainwright Senior Vice President Marketing and Communications 3
Our Name Tyco Electronics Ltd. has changed its name to TE Connectivity Ltd. to better reflect the products and solutions that we provide to our customers. In a world that is increasingly connected we engineer a full range of connectivity solutions. From electronic connectors under the hood of a car, to fiber optic cables under the sea to high-voltage connections in energy systems, our products protect and connect the flow of power and data from origination to destination in the world's largest industries including automotive, telecommunications, energy, aerospace, industrial and consumer devices. TE Connectivity Ltd. TE Connectivity TE Connectivity Ltd. is our full legal name and may be shortened to TE Connectivity for most situations. Many customers and employees around the world already refer to us as "TE," which is why we chose to keep TE as the core of our new name, and to reinforce its use as the short name reference for TE Connectivity. 4
Writing and Speaking about TE Connectivity TE s operations are complex and diverse. Just as our visual identity elements must be used consistently to promote clear communication, writing and speaking with clarity about TE and its businesses requires consistency as well. Be sure to understand and follow the few simple rules on this page. Note: Tyco and Tyco Electronics are no longer part of our name and should not be used in reference to TE Connectivity or its businesses. Questions about this page should be directed to your TE Connectivity Account Manager. Long name TE Connectivity Short name TE Written first instance In any written document the first reference to our company should be the long name "TE Connectivity." Written after first instance After the first reference in a document the company should be referred to by its short name "TE." Verbal reference "TE" is the correct reference in almost any spoken communication or conversation. When making a formal presentation or speech it may be appropriate to follow the written convention of our long name first reference. 5
The TE Signature Our New Name and Symbol Our new brand signature is shown on this page. The signature is a combination of a unique symbol and wordmark for our new name. Our new name and signature supports our unrivaled position as a global leader in enabling connectivity. The old signature is no longer used on communication materials. Our new symbol Our new symbol brings forward the interconnected quality of the old TE symbol. The movement of the streaks in the symbol reflects the dynamism of our company and our commitment to delivering the expertise, innovation and customer collaboration that enable a connected world. Our new name and wordmark Our new name is displayed in the wordmark in italic letters, conveying the pace and dynamism of our business. The blue and orange of the old signature have been retained. The color blue speaks to our heritage and is associated with the true blue of loyalty. Both classic and timeless, it was chosen to represent the integrity and approachability of our people. The color orange is an energetic, lively color and suggests the unlimited potential of our business. The signature lock-up relationship has been carefully determined and should not be altered from the example shown here in any way. Do not separate the symbol from the wordmark. New signature Our new symbol Old signature Our new name/wordmark 6
Authorized Distributor & Reseller Signatures The Authorized Distributor and Authorized Reseller signature lock-ups have been developed to maintain consistency with our visual system and prevent incorrect versions from being created. Each lock-up should be used on white backgrounds. If it will appear on a dark background it must be placed within a white area at least equal to the minimum clear space as defined at right. A rectangle defining the minimum clear space is part of all signature artwork files. Vertical signature Horizontal signature 1x 2x The minimum clear space (x) is half of the height of the T in the wordmark When the Authorized Distributor or Authorized Reseller signature appears on a dark background, it must be placed in a white background with a minimum size equal to the clear space around it. Do not place a keyline around the white area. 7

Minimum Sizes To maintain the visibility and legibility of the TE signature, it must not be used below a minimum reproduction size. Different minimums are required for different media as shown on this page. Always scale the TE signature elements together as a unit to ensure that the approved proportions and relationship between these elements can always be maintained.. Minimum Size for Offset or Digital Print 20mm 0.78" 25mm 0.984" Minimum Size for On-screen Minimum Size for Desktop or Office Print 75 pixels Minimum Size for Embroidery Minimum Size for Glass or Metal Etching 40mm 1.57" 85mm 3" 10
Incorrect Signature Usage The examples shown below illustrate some, but not all, unacceptable uses of the TE signature. Always use approved artwork. Do not arrange the signature in a stacked or centered alignment. Do not typeset the signature or tagline in another typeface. Always reproduce the signature from approved electronic or camera-ready artwork. Do not reproduce the signature in any other colors. Do not place the signature at an angle or distort it in any way. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet Do not introduce any other graphic elements. Do not use the wordmark artwork as part of a sentence. Do not use poor-quality artwork. Always reproduce the signature from approved electronic or camera-ready artwork. Do not add a drop shadow to the signature. Do not use the old Tyco Electronics signature or tagline. Never use TE by itself. Do not combine the Streak symbol with the old Tyco Electronics signature. 11
Backgrounds The TE signature uses transparency to give the effect of the symbol streaks fading into the background. Maintaining this effect is essential to the integrity of the signature and requires special attention to backgrounds. Preferred background White The preferred and usual background for the color TE signature is white. If necessary, the signature may be applied to a light-colored material as long as the transparency effect is maintained (printing on light-colored paper for instance). Do not place the color signature against a photographic or filled background area where the transparent ends of the streaks will appear as white. The White (reverse) version of the signature must blend with the background on which it is placed to maintain the transparent effect. The White artwork files provided are transparent for this reason (.ai for print and.png for desktop and screen use). The White (reverse) signature may be used on dark colors or photographic backgrounds, provided that there is enough contrast for clear legibility. Acceptable background Pale tinted backgrounds are acceptable when white is not an option Colored fills Do not place the signature against a colored fill, where the transparent ends of the streaks will appear as white.. Photographs Do not place the color signature on a photographic background. Dark background Use the reverse signature on a dark background. The backgound color blends with the transparent artwork. Dark photographs The White (reverse) signature may be used on a dark photographic background if the signature is clear. Busy photographs Do not place the White (reverse) signature on a busy photograph where it is hard to read. 12
TE Color Palette To create a consistent and recognizable look for the variety of visual communications we produce, a color palette has been selected. Our color palette consists of our Primary Colors, TE Blue (Pantone 3015), TE Orange (Pantone 144) and TE Gray (Pantone Cool Gray 9). Primary Colors 70% 30% 70% 30% 70% 30% A secondary palette of coordinating colors in subdued backgrounds and bright page accents adds design flexibility these colors may be used at value or as tints, as shown here. 14 TE Typography For TE designed materials, use Gotham* through all levels of text hierarchy: headlines, introductory text, body text and captions. Arial may be used as an alternate font when Gotham is not available. *TE has contracted the proprietary Gotham font from Hoefler-Frere Jones, Incorporated (HFJ). We possess a limited number of software licenses for four styles (Light, Book, Bold and Black). This font is copyrighted by HFJ. The font can only be installed on a limited number of computers within TE. Only graphics professionals, engaged in producing company-sanctioned catalogs, brochures, banners, signage, etc., using licensed versions of design applications, such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign and QuarkXPress should request this font and will be given access to it. The Gotham font will be uploaded to the corporate software library. If you have any questions relating to the Gotham font, please contact TE Corporate Communications for additional information. Outside vendors such as printers, desktop publishers, advertising agencies, exhibit house, etc., who need these fonts to work on TE Connectivity projects will need to purchase licenses to use these fonts from HFJ at Where the fonts cannot be used - Web development - As text in other desktop applications Gotham Light Gotham Book Gotham Bold Gotham Black abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ !?&$@#%^*(){} abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ !?&$@#%^*(){} abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ !?&$@#%^*(){} abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ !?&$@#%^*(){} Arial Regular abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ !?&$@#%^*(){} Arial Bold abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ !?&$@#%^*(){} 14
Imagery Product Focus Photography with a product focus should emphasize one or more TE products or devices. It should be appropriate and relevant to our brand. In order to communicate product focus, compositions use depth of field and a strong focal point to project a unique TE point of view. For instance, one area of the product should be in sharp focus while the rest of the image is soft, essentially out of focus. This approach is dynamic and sets us apart from our competitors. It also helps us to communicate that even though TE products are innovative and often complicated, they can also be approachable. Wherever possible, use natural light, or natural lighting techniques to photograph products. Artificial colorization of product imagery should be avoided. Avoid a cluttered composition by choosing a few carefully chosen items to show (e.g. five rather than eight) and let the lighting and composition create an engaging product shot. Key considerations: - Strong focal point - Dynamic cropping - Natural lighting - Simple backgrounds 15
The Supergraphic A distinctive graphic element has been created to help unify our materials and further differentiate us from our competitors. This supergraphic element is derived from the TE symbol and always appears within an orange band. Generally the supergraphic is used only once on an application. Take care not to overuse it and apply it throughout a piece. Whenever possible the ends of the supergraphic band bleed off the sides of an application. Special artwork has been created for the supergraphic. Its configuration and proportions are fixed. Use only the approved artwork when applying the supergraphic to applications. 16
The Supergraphic Sizing and Placement Options Supergraphic Size Three standard supergraphic sizes have been created and are available as artwork: vertical brochure supergraphic horizontal brochure supergraphic Narrow (extreme vertical) supergraphic Supergraphic Band The size of the supergraphic band on our applications is determined by the height of the application. On vertical applications, the height of the band is 1/5 of the height of the application. On horizontal applications, the height of the band is 1/4 of the height of the application. The orange band may be extended across the back cover but do not repeat the supergraphic on the back. Supergraphic Placement Options There are three placement positions for the supergraphic band. The band is either centered on the page or it sits on/hangs from the midpoint line, as shown on this page. Standard Supergraphic Sizes Three available sizes of supergraphic artwork, from left to right: Vertical brochure, horizontal brochure and narrow (extreme vertical) Supergraphic Placement Options Option 1: Supergraphic is centered on the page Option 2: Supergraphic sits on the midpoint line Option 3: Supergraphic hangs from the midpoint line 17
Incorrect Supergraphic Usage Always maintain the integrity of the supergraphic. Use the supplied supergraphic artwork as placed in the application templates. The examples shown below illustrate some, but not all of the unacceptable uses of the supergraphic. Connections for Electronic Devices Connections for Electronic Devices Connections for Electronic Devices Do not place the supergraphic in positions other than the two placement options. Do not bleed the supergraphic off the top or bottom of a piece. Do not reverse the direction of the supergraphic. Do not separate the supergraphic and supergraphic band. Use only the approved artwork. Medical and Healthcare Capabilities Cable assemblies from Europe s premier supplier carry all the required medical approvals and leverage TE s extensive range of connectors, cables and engineering capabilities. Connections for Electronic Devices Do not use more than one supergraphic in a communications piece. The orange band can wrap around the back cover but do not repeat the supergraphic on the back. Do not change the height of the supergraphic band. Do not use the supergraphic in the inside pages of a brochure or product catalog. 18
